How Good?

I tend to think the Late Lou Duva and George Benton as trainer and ring cornermen were number 1 in the sport. They worked Holyfield's corner as a team with Lou doing the blue collar work and Benton giving advice to Holyfield in between rounds which is the white collar work. Emanuel Stewart was quite good also, Which was the better of the two, Steward, or Duva and Benton?

I'd favor Benton mainly because he was taught to train by Eddie Futch.

George Benton didn't get the recognition that he deserved as a trainer. I would lean with Benton as the best trainer of the three. All three were great trainers and cared a lot for their fighters.

Not sure Duva was a great trainer. Maybe. I will say he sure leaned into emotional responses to any perceived injustice done to his fighter. I tend to rate highly, trainers who take a kid from day one and develop him. Pat and Goody Petronelli did that with Hagler. Duva got guys who were “ Tommorows champions “. The already knew how to fight. Big name former amateurs , Olympians etc. Benton and Futch were terrific trainers. Steward was excellent also. Another guy who took fighters on from day one.
