Mathew Hall used to clean people out for fun on nights out back in the day.

Blue boy Gallagher and Ritchie Evatt used to be a nightmare on nights out together

I don't think today's fighters are as active on the cobbles as their predecessors. They should step up.

My brother's mate was an amateur boxer of some repute in the 80's. We were in a pub when a guy (and two of his mates) called him some racist names and asked him to step outside. My brother asked if he needed any help, but his boxer mate declined. He stepped outside with the racists and about sixty seconds later walked back in the pub, not even a hair out of place.

Saw that. Awful. Seemed like he had no remorse either. Bit like the Gary Delaney case but Gary got 11 years. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... e-pub.htmlhigh tower 1 wrote: ↑09 Sep 2024, 18:18That post from 2010 aged well. Did you see what he did in 2013 ?

Where I live, there is a story that a local hardknock sparked out Joey Singleton in the late 80’s.
Think Joey was minding the door at some club/pub.
Never really read that much into this as the devil needs be in the detail, of which there is very little. He could have blindside sucker punched him.
There is something in it mind, as the following week or so Joey came looking for him with a small entourage.

Sometimes you will get a big fat guy who's a real hardman , meaning he can take a punch , he's hard to hurt and has a determination to win , but he will need a fitness about him to do it , You see it all the time , guys who just never run out of steam and can fight for fun , a natural fitness and thats whats needed FITNESS , without it you get beat has soon has you meet someone of equal strenght and calibrs in or out of the ring , which is why most boxers will usually win on the street , but a fit strong lightweight is'nt gonna take Lenny Maclean , it would take a fit strong Chisora type .
Then again you can have all that and get sparkled if you can't take a punch then it sorts out the good givers from the good takers , I worked the doors with a kick boxer once , he was good backup but for my liking too handy at giving a belting , On two occasions i actually witnessed him break peoples legs , with a well aimed kick , this guy used to do the Van Damm shit and practice kicking trees , , he would spend his day rolling metal bars up and down his shins , jeez when he kicked people folded , , yet he got sparkled one night by a punter who did'nt give a shit just whacked him on the chin ,

My father watched Mick Mills put 3 people to sleep who had definitely started it on the doors. He used to re-tell it happily as the 3 were loud and bullies and were literally put to sleep. Had the pleasure of meeting Mick years later.
I met a pro boxer on the door, Lee Swaby, years later, he was the chap who KO'ed Enzo Mac early on. Never saw Lee so much as raise his voice, he was the perfect door security and managed to talk people into being sensible.

Steve Collins is lunatic hard, fornicating Scott Harrison and Eamonn Magee out together, Jim Rock was called the hardest Irish fighter Tommy Kelly ever worked with and he's worked with them all, Jim was the Pink Panther who wore Pink shortsTerminator666 wrote: ↑05 Aug 2010, 06:34 On the other side dident Steve Collins do some damage to a big doorman a few years back? His name came up on a podcast with some old villain . He said most boxers were great in prison but Delaney was a terrible bully and had to be taught a lesson when he got to the dispersal system.Cask wrote: ↑12 Sep 2024, 11:59Delaney who played up the Cockney hard man trope, "Dis David Haye?? Two big punchers with "unpredictable" demeanors, Evatt reminds me of a boxer I know , lovely guy, seems to come out the other end, just those eyes, broad shoulders, ham fists, a reputation that preceeded him everyone was shit scared of him , also had a reputation for cleaning guys out on nights out, who picks fights with guys like that?? You must be absolutely wired on coke, red bull and spirits
