conlan is a fun fighter (and his bro was wildly entertaining) with some skill behind it, but just doesnt seem durable enough for the higher levels
might wanna face one of these french euroish level guys who have big winning records but very few stoppages

Nothing more brave than normal working men arming themselves and fighting back against an oppressive, invading force when you are heavily out financed and out gunned.
I'm sure that if England was invaded by a foreign army who violently upheld sectarian abuse such as gerrymandering and facilitated murder, you would uprise and fight back, no?
The real terrorists were the crown forces including the RUC, UDR and British Army who all carried out cowardly acts of terrorism. They created the environment that led to the creation of the PIRA. Oppression breeds rebellion.
Let’s agree to disagree![]()
I’m English, but my partner is Irish.
It’s only recently, on my travels to Ireland, that I began to realise the full extent of our actions as a nation.
It grabbed my attention so much that I have now started to read around the subject (and other atrocities we have committed around the world).
Out treatment of the Irish over the last centuries has been horrific. You could argue it borders on genocide. The stealing/exporting of food during the Potato famine is particularly eye opening.
None of this stuff was taught to me in school.
Horrific acts were committed on both sides during the troubles. I don’t justify any of them. But there is zero doubt who the original aggressor was.
It’s also worth saying that when Republicans sing or shout ‘up the Ra’ they generally aren’t referring to the modern day IRA in my experience, but the original resistance.
We don't get taught that kind of history at school because then we might all know how evil we've been!
Re: Michael Conlan
A more defensive approach would be good.
Only he (or a bad scan) can decide when to hang them up. So learning some better techniques to avoid damage is good, and Conlan is a smart guy, he will learn.
Khan forged out an excellent career, Conlan can keep earning for a little while yet if he wants to.

Not so sure he's been around long enough , I don't think any new coach could wave a magic wand with him , personally i don't thik he's got whats needed at that level and thats the durability , and you can't teach chin , Great boxer though done well , i'd like to see him retire from taking the hits , maybee go into coaching , he no doubt would have a lot to offerKiwiRider wrote: ↑23 Aug 2024, 16:44 A more defensive approach would be good.

It's been admitted by your own Government that's not true, ONE retaliatory shot was fired and it was a member of a rival faction to the Provos. The Parachute Regiment carried out Bloody Sunday and Ballymurphy massacres, they got their comeuppance at warrenpoint, same day they got Pedo MtBatton.
even the Paras laughed at the gallows humour that was sprayed on the walls after (13 gone but not forgotten, yet we got 18 and Mountbatten) the Parachute Regiment shot an English tourist with blind panic fire during Warrenpoint and tried to claim he was IRA.
Soldier F fired a bullet up a prone man's rectum, deliberately to destroy his insides with maximum damage, another one of them got his head shot through in South Africa as an Apartheid State mercenary

Word is that that wasn't going to be a secret much longer so they took a "whatever happens, happens" attitude when he insisted on going boating despite the very viable threat to his life. That threat may have been a blessing to the Royal establishmentJamesPhilips wrote: ↑31 Aug 2024, 10:09Mountbatten was (allegedlyCask wrote: ↑30 Aug 2024, 22:19It's been admitted by your own Government that's not true, ONE retaliatory shot was fired and it was a member of a rival faction to the Provos. The place you're talking about would be the infamous Kincora Boys Home, ran by John McKeag, former friend of Paisley (a LOT of nonces were former friends of Paisley you'll find) child rapist , and Force Research Unit(British Army intelligence) agent, and founder of a loyalist paramilitary
You know Jeffrey Donaldson was a protege of Enoch Powell, and now he's being done for historical sex offences, and they talk about the Muslim grooming gangs!! They havnt a patch
Re: Michael Conlan
Kincora was a honeytrap for influential Unionist and Loyalist figures, one of the most useful methods of controlling informers is blackmail. Think of it as Britain'scown little Epstein island
I remember when a fella called Roy Green was shot dead during the 2000 loyalist feud, I thought he was a strange target as he was just an affiliate, until I learned he was the "porn" guy who had all the compromising videos
"Dirty War" doesn't cover it
Oh and the Conlans are twats

Re: Michael Conlan
Murder can never be justified.
And I am sure that you know all about British terrorism carried out by Crown forces in Ireland, do you want to discuss any of that or should we just concentrate on one-side who didnt start this conflict?
Are you proud of British armed forces? Do you consider them brave?
