He moved as if he had forgotten how to box. Hands were LOW at all times, he was throwing soft shots, he got caught by a sleazy haymaker in the first round.

Dubious was war ready and mauled him.

What were people's thoughts on the ref? Haven't read all the posts yet but I think he could be held responsible for having allowed Joshua serious damage in there. He looked concussed after the first knockdown and was taking unneccessary punishment.

You're right, but it would shine a light on the favouritism AJ seemingly expects. Hence he had a tantrum when the Usyk rematch was a bit closer but he didn't get the win he seemingly presumed he was entitled to. Imagine if he had landed two more punches on Dubois. I bet my left ventricle the ref steps in. And the "what a comeback" hype train leaves the station.

I felt this too but when a title is on the line between two big names in the main event and they can stand straight after the 8 count, it's more likely to keep going.

If AJ had been an unheard-of journeyman and being ragdolled like that by Johnny Fisher the ref would have ended it much, much earlier. Of that I have no doubt.

The Ref was awful, as others have said. Warning DD straight away, twice.

AJ was clinging on every round after shipping some shots, but never got warned for holding. I would say it would be considered some 'home town cooking', but DD is actually from London and AJ from Watford.

Ref was a little biased, in there, but DD done so well, It's hard to begrudge the bloke.

unnecessary warning against DDD

I felt the first warning for the head was fair. Nothing outrageous, but some obvious sanding. The kind of thing you expect from a tired fighter down on the cards, so worth highlighting you've seen it. Otherwise agree on the hometowning, though he missed that opportunity to give AJ a count when he touched down.

There was a moment when few would've blamed him for stopping it, and counting the KO was ridiculous.

I like Joshua and I never enjoy seeing guys i like get done in like that but he's nobody to blame but himself, his defence was leaky from the off and his hands actually got lower after getting knocked down, Dubois was really good it's gotta be said but Joshua fought like a novice

-AJ vs Wilder (Wilder is shot so AJ should back himself, but AJ is chinny so wilder should back himself) this is still a monster fight even if its wayyyy to late.

-AJ vs Fury (win lose or draw for fury this is a giant fight, honestly styles make fights and fury is not a banger, still massive)

-AJ vs Big baby miller (miller is a bit of a punching bag, AJ could revert back to Ruiz 2 style for it or could go to war, either way the lead up would be epic and we are owed it from NY) (Althought i dont wanna see miller make millions the filthy cheat).

-AJ vs whyte II (both past prime, but honestly could be a great build up and like the wilder fight both would have to kinda back themselves)...

-Aj vs parker.... probably the best of them, but the one that makes the least sense to me, parker should be battling for belts. still i like parker and if theres 8 figures there for him.... i hope that happens too....

Now can we get all of them? probably not. but i think theres 2 of em left in AJ... and they would be huge, even if not for "whos the best in the world" status.

Aye, because Bruno's most celebrated win was against McCall. AJ dug in tremendously and was gracious in defeat, so if he can deal with this dip in pro status he can still do big numbers.

If Fury loses again they could market that as the best of the former best.

I actually prefer Dubois and Joyce's awkwardness to Joshua's cliched phrases and Fury's gobshiteness.
I found it funny when Miller (the sort of loudmouthed c**t that can get under anyone's skin) kinda realised that it wasn't getting through to Dubois, and with Dubois' shite patter, it was kinda going to be like a grown adult picking on and bullying a not so bright 12 year old.
You don't need all the talk and circus act with Dubois, you know he's there to throw bombs and get hit back with a few in the process whilst willing to take on anyone. He is awkwardly painful to listen to, but it's refreshing after all the nonsense from others of late.

I just don't get why people expect fighters always to be eloquent.
Embrace the win for what it is and him for what he's achieved. They can't win , Joshua gets knocked for "fake" , Joe Joyce always got plenty of stick , people didn't seem to mind when good old Frank could roll out " you know what I mean Harry" and Benn said " they only bought him over ere to bash me up"
I think folk expect a lot .

Of course one, or both of them may price themselves out of it.
I reckon Uysk would give DDD a rematch, he has earned it more than any other contenders wanting a go.
