Well the fight collection that ESPN has is one that was put together by former Tyson manager/advisor Jim Jacobs. Jacobs was the premeir fight collector for 30, or 40 years and had amassed the largest collection of fights in the world, which he would go into business with Bill Cayton and when Jacobs died Cayton gained ownership...which Cayton sold the collection to ESPN for many millions and now ESPN are just sitting on 1000s and 1000s of old, great fights from the past...many of which there are no way to get them and won't be unless ESPN would get off they're selfish ass and either make the fights available on they're television stations, or make them buyable to boxing fans...both of which, unfortunately, seem very likely to never happen in our lifetimes!

Like I have said before...they have enough old and new fights to where they could start a channel that showed nothing but boxing 24 hrs a day and they would have enough different fights to where they could show a new set of fights every day for probably around 10+ years straight!

To bad he sold the entire collection. He could have sold them only the fights they wanted which judging by how many they air is not very many. He still would have made a good dollar and would have had all of those fights to himself. I know that Al Bernstein collected many good old fights and had a late night program where he would show them. Every time I saw that show he would make a good presentation.

Is espn holding onto these fights because they have some big master plan with them or do they simply not know what to do with them?. I've got the horrible feeling that they're simply in some storeroom somewhere slowly decomposing.......
