At least double the people in the poll didn't get the PPV.

I always find the polls quite strange. Why are people even on here if they don't watch boxing?

95% of the poll said they’d watch / listen… but doesn’t mean they paid for it though :OhYes: :D

I watched in a bar

So despite what the haters here claim - even against someone as Uncharismatic and boring as Dubois .. Joshua can still shift decent PPVs

Yes but he was coming off 2 good wins, the Ngannou destruction was big news and dramatic (though Francis was a novice).

The story was that Joshua was better than ever with his new trainer….he kod the monster Ngannou who almost beat Fury etc.

I don’t think they can roll out that ‘best ever joshua’ narrative anymore. He can still shift PPVs agaisnt the right opponent…. But Joshua’s stock has dimmed even with the casual.

I think that's the same for any top fighter who picks up a few losses. When Usyk wins the rematch, I still think AJ-Fury will sell like crazy, but not AJ-Parker numbers. Well, not unless Jake Paul is the special guest referee.

I hope you're as confident in your Usyk pick as you were in your AJ one, mate!

Yes - but thats to be expected. It was a very different environment pre-covid for lots of events - also if social media is anything to go by, there appears to be lots of cynicism around the heavyweight division in general nowadays.
Added to the fact it was against Dubois, who even after the Joshua win will still struggle to be much of an attraction.

I don't know about 'haters'.
But my point was that more than double the people didn't pay over the ones who did pay - according to our poll.
So given that, it's a very popular fight if you figure not just the PPV numbers, but thw total numbers.

A quick Google of PPV numbers between the top heavyweights gives a clear enough picture to show AJ Vs Dubois did very respectable numbers by comparison.

Usyk Vs Fury did around 1.5 million from what I read. Now that had 2 of the 3 biggest and most popular heavyweights in it, and also the hyperbole of being the first undisputed for 25 or whatever years.

Where as Dubois Vs AJ was seen by a lot of people as just an opportunity for AJ to pick up a belt to rebuild the fight against Fury .. little more than a build up fight.

*The haters are the ones here claiming AJs chin has gone .. punch has gone .. fans have gone .. and just about everything else he had has gone too.

Isn't >800k PPV buys for a matchup between 2 Brits a decent number? I'm not sure what the PPV numbers are for Brit vs Brit fights, but it's surely up there.

Yes, but my question still remains. How does it compare to other Brit vs Brit matchups?

I don't know, it's always guesswork anyway. I'd have thought Froch v Groves 2 did a few.

And obviously Fury beat that by a long way against a Brit, KSI.

That’s did around 800k too

Haye-Bellew did around 800-900k as well

Some websites have stated it did over a million. But they going of BARB, which is not accurate.
