Will the officiating be fair in Fury-Usyk II, or will the ref and judges help Fury?
What do you think? In the first fight, the referee Mark Nelson protected Fury from being stopped in the 9th round. After the fight, when Dereck Chisora questioned him about the long count, he laughed.
As well, Craig Metcalfe scored the fight for Fury, despite it being a clear decision win for Usyk.
Will old Fish Eyes have some dodgy officials working the fight, or will the officials be fair and honest?
Dishonest officiating is an ugly stain on the sport of boxing, and needs to be cleaned up.

He was held up by the ropes. It could have been stopped there potentially, yeah. But it's not a given. The ropes protected Fury, not the ref in my view.
I wouldn't say it was a clear win for Usyk in some sort of undeniable way. I had Usyk by 1 point.
Some of you guys just hate Fury sooooooo much, I don;t know why. Probably because he's White, partially.
It's annoying, it becomes disingeneous and borderline hysterical like the ideas proposed by OP.

Usyk won it clearly IMO. But i think Fury can win the rematch if he can make adjustmentsBobbyptsd wrote: ↑30 Sep 2024, 18:09 He was held up by the ropes. It could have been stopped there potentially, yeah. But it's not a given. The ropes protected Fury, not the ref in my view.

There's no reason to think there will be any dodgy officiating. Stop stirring.

Um, isn’t Usyk white? And there were fanboys on here calling Usyk the greatest heavyweight ever after the first Jacobs bought.Bobbyptsd wrote: ↑30 Sep 2024, 18:09 He was held up by the ropes. I think the likelihood is that this guy likes Fury ONLY because he's white and thinks that's the reason people must hate him. Projecting his insecurities.giacomino wrote: ↑01 Oct 2024, 07:13Um, isn’t Usyk white? I thought the judges were quite generous to both AJ and Fury in the 3 fights we've seen so far.

It wasn't fair the first time, and it won't be fair this time.
There's just too much money riding on a Fury win. The money will get to someone, somehow involved in the fight.
It usually does.
Usyk needs to win in a way that 95% of those watching will agree with.
He came within a whisker of being robbed the last time.
I believe it was only due to the fight being under the auspices of Riyadh Season that we even got the right result at all.

Have look at the clip of Richard towers v Greg Tony if you want to a very odd referee non intervention. Ironically towers went on to win
Re: Will the officiating be fair in Fury-Usyk II, or will the ref and judges help Fury?
Oddly, Fury being handed a draw against Wilder was dodgier scoring than anything Usyk has been subjected to. Usyk has never been significantly ripped off by judges in his pro career. And there have certainly been occasions when I thought it would probably happen.
Re: Will the officiating be fair in Fury-Usyk II, or will the ref and judges help Fury?
A lot of the money in Fury/Joshua has vanished because of them both losing recently. Of course that fight makes money, but maybe half what it could have been. They can't even rustle up a stray belt for it.
Fury may have been given A side treatment in the first fight, but I don't think there is as much value in that being the case for the second.

What does everybody think the purse split will be for this fight?
I would be disappointed if Fury was given an equal split. Also just between us I hate the return fight clause in Boxing contracts. Once you are beaten you should go back into the mix, but in this case the return fight would have happened anyway because I think it is what the fans want.

They all notoriously favor the white fighter. And with both guys being white we are looking at unfair juding both for and against both of them

it could come down to who wears the whiter outfit, that might edge it just enough in their favourJeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑05 Oct 2024, 22:47 They all notoriously favor the white fighter. And with both guys being white we are looking at unfair juding both for and against both of them

indeed, he's a smart dude
Re: Will the officiating be fair in Fury-Usyk II, or will the ref and judges help Fury?
Seems like a pretty biased question if you are suggesting that Fury is the only fighter that could benefit from dishonest judging.
Re: Will the officiating be fair in Fury-Usyk II, or will the ref and judges help Fury?
All A-sides or home fighters benefit. Some more than others. Usyk being the "Away fighter" every time he fights goes against him and people respect it's an uphill battle each time it goes to the scorecards.
I think Fury has benefitted a few times but not close to someone like Canelo. That being said Fury should have at least one more loss on his record, arguably 2.
Re: Will the officiating be fair in Fury-Usyk II, or will the ref and judges help Fury?
Fury has openly said many times the officiating was, and will be in the rematch, bias towards Usyk .
Fury said he has to win by KO as he’ll never get judges scores against Usyk.
Best way is to get the KO and take the officials out the equation
