Disappointing undercard. I only really like McCann v McGrail. The Bosh army won't even get going in Riyadh.

Madrimov fight is OK as wellmickey1975 wrote: ↑08 Oct 2024, 17:42 Disappointing undercard. I only really like McCann v McGrail. The Bosh army won't even get going in Riyadh.
It's not a stellar card. I've only seen Mckeen against Hrgovic and he didn't look great. Hope he can push Itamu a bit though
Bosh v Allen is a waste of time. They should throw in at least one other quality fight.
Get Ray Ford out again, or Zhang

I think it’s a decent undercard. Itauma-McKean is a bit step up. Allen-Fisher will be fun. McCann-McGrail great fight. Madrimov-Bohachuk good fight.
Isaac Lowe meh as always
I think we’ve been too spoiled

Shame there’s no Zhang-Parker
Or even the Bakole-Kabayel.
Although those two can be their own co-headline for new year

Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury II | PPV - 21 December 2024
Main event is obviously class.
The 154 fight is a pretty good 50-50
Moses in a big step up is nice.
Fisher in a big step up is nice (some might not see it as a big step up but Dave probably has the best ability so far to drag fishing into a bit of deep water)
Really nice little guy 50-50 but to me it feels like it should be main event on a small uk show rather than undercard on a giant Saudi show.

Full Undercard For Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk Rematch Announced
Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury are set to run it back following their historic undisputed heavyweight championship fight earlier this year.
In May, the Ukrainian came out on top via split decision to take all four belts and hand Fury his first professional loss. The fight delivered on all counts, with back and forth action, blood, sweat and edge-of-your-seat moments. As per the contract, Fury had the option to force a rematch and didn’t wait around to do so.
They will meet again on December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this time for just three of the four major belts after Usyk vacated the IBF and it was awarded to Daniel Dubois.
There are some big British names propping up the main event, including widely-regarded future heavyweight ruler Moses Itauma in a big step up against southpaw Demsey McKean. Johnny Fisher faces fan-favourite Dave Allen in another battle of the big men.
Chief support is former super-welterweight champion Israil Madrimov attempting to bounce back from defeat to Terence Crawford against Usyk’s countryman Serhii Bohachuk. The card also features two more intriguing all-British affairs – Dennis McCann versus Peter McGrail and Isaac Lowe facing Lee McGregor.

Like the one on Saturday, the undercard is very much aimed at the UK market.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑09 Oct 2024, 03:28 Full Undercard For Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk Rematch Announced

Fury has had 3 rematches and all ended in KO wins.
McDermott - TKO9
Chisora - RTD10 & TKO10
Wilder - TKO7 & TKO11
I mean he didn't actually lose any of the first fights anyway.. He just likes rematching.

A few people thought he lost to McDermott so he went out to prove a point to the fans.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑09 Oct 2024, 04:52 Fury has had 3 rematches and all ended in KO wins.

Del was resurgent at the time of the first rematch and got the third by losing to Usyk in a fight a lot thought he won.
Wilder was obliged.

Strange undercard. Fair play to those who put in the 5/6 hours for this card. Ill probably make sure I catch McCann/McGrail early and then just come back for the main event ring walks.

Pretty poor by their own standards. The law of diminishing returns...

I disagree. I think we’ve been spoiled by the Saudi cards.
I’m looking forward to all of these. Except Lowe who is meh. Having said that, even if Isaac Lowe should be boxing at Reading Leisure centre not on this bill, it’s still a decent fight against Lee McGregor. Hopefully Lee will finish Fury’s little plaything.

No. As I say I think we’ve been spoiled. But every fight is interesting. This is much better than most UK bills that have a main event, two awful women’s fights plus 3 vague ‘prospects’ beating up no hopers with 95% losing records.Ezzard wrote: ↑09 Oct 2024, 08:05You think this one is as good as the others?JamesPhilips wrote: ↑09 Oct 2024, 08:02I disagree. I’d consider buying a ticket to this if it was in the UK, although I don’t fancy a Saudi trip

I think we’re on a similar page, but I wouldn’t describe it as ‘poor’, even relative to other shows. I think Fury's gonna need to increase his work rate and decrease his BMI if he's going to win this.
Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury II | PPV - 21 December 2024
He needs to relentlessly go to the body and mix in a few Danny Dubois beltshots.
Usyk almost couldn't take em in the first fight, and definitely couldn't versus Dubois.
Like it or not, that's the key to beating Usyk at heavy. Joshua had him in more pain then he tried to let on in one of the rounds too.

Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury II | PPV - 21 December 2024
I think Fury will need to come in heavier and go for broke. Otherwise, it is likely to be a similar outcome. He is going to have to really sustain his attacks and not stand back and admire his handiwork.
It's easier said than done, of course. I think both guys were outstanding in the first fight. A lot of skill, nouse, bottle and character were on display in that first fight.
As I've said previously, I wish they'd both retire, along with AJ. It always seems to be at this age when fighters take the most amount of punches. Bruno's medical condition is a serious reminder of that.
