Oi!

Post by Noxy »

Hello there, just a comment on Beterbiev vs Bivol. I love the way they are so normal with the media. I love it. Zero cringe or fake media bullsh*t. I would welcome more of that in the sport. At the same time, I realise fighters have to drum up interest in their careers, garner attention etc.

Still, it's refreshing to see these two guys. They're well known enough for the fight to sell itself.

Ali started the whole fighting before the bout thing. The trash talking, yelling away, creating a drama filled atmosphere, etc.
His inspiration and advice pertaining to all of that was actually from the Entertainment Wrestler "Gorgeous George".
Boxers were such calmly gentlemen, including towards one another(Pre-Fight)before that.

I remember "Riddick Bowe" back in the day, during the pre-fight events(Weigh In and stare down and such).
I remember when he hit "Larry Donald" during the weigh in and stare down.
Beterbiev and Bivol are taking it back to the good ole Mutual Respect days.
"Manny Pacqiou" had that type of "nice polite guy" demeanor going as well.

Muhammad Ali revolutionized boxing by introducing a new level of pre-fight theatrics, inspired by the flamboyant wrestling persona of Gorgeous George. Before Ali, boxers maintained a gentlemanly demeanor, often showing respect towards one another in the lead-up to matches. Ali's approach included trash talking and creating a dramatic atmosphere, which not only engaged fans but also transformed the sport into a more entertainment-driven spectacle.
