What about Clubber Lang at the statue unveiling?
To this day I haven’t forgiven him. Such disrespect and to bring the Champs wife into it. Disgusting!!!!
Wasn't that borrowed from Duran's rant at Leonard before the first fight?
I think you are on the right lines there my friend. Leonard took all of that and went up a level for the rematch.

Calling out a retired fighter has always been poor form. I remember Fury calling out Lennox Lewis a while back, shameful.

TBF I think that was just Lang selling future PPVs and closed circuit. He knew the money was in a Balboa match not fighting for the vacant title. It was not heartfelt. Just marketing. And it worked too.

How the fornicate is Benn the number 2 ranked welter on boxrec… hasn’t made welter in 2.5 years, and his best win at welter was a semi retired van herrdan….

I guess the algorithm has a heavy bias for undefeated at the moment, and it has always biased old opponents on the fade too high (cause the points take a while to fade away, where as the fighter fades rapidly)

Benn is Mabey the most hateable guy in boxing right now, I was a bit of a fan and excused his matchmaking in the same way I excuse fishers, if your commercial just do enough to keep the hype rolling… I hope eubank leads Benn along but gets the canelo fight, then leads Benn along tour gets the beefy trilogy, then leads Benn along and along but is secretly retired.

He was a wrong 'un, mate. Pushed and killed Mickey. And, be honest, what did he ever do after the Rocky fights? Just faded away. Never had the discipline to stay relevant in the division.

A quiet and brooding character, but to the best of my knowledge he went on to join up with A team of mercenaries and changed his name and became a bit of a cult hero. He was famously qouted as saying 'i love it when a plan comes together' when he was asked about how he'd turned his life around.

True he was a bully. Also He was a one hit wonder. Like Buster Douglas or Andy Ruiz but with more menace.

Unless he fights Jnr at middleweight it should never happen.

Even then I don't really want to see him in the ring again.

Benn needs the fight more, he will accept what he is given, maybe 11st 4lbs

He looked awful last time he boiled down, would be crazy to take it on those terms again, surely he holds the cards now .

Junior's way or the highway, I guess Benn could get a licence from the Saudi commission or someone who wants a few bucks but whether it will be sanctioned by the BoC is another thing

Didn't realise it was so old, just had a skim through the first couple of pages and I'd posted "Conor’s going to be roided to the gills for this one". Little did I know what a PED saga was about to unfold  :yay:

Neither have been great boxers. Eubank has fought far superior opponents, and that goes without saying but he's never fought anyone remotely world class level, apart from George Groves. Saunders and Smith while decent enough, were they world class? Anyhow that's another argument. For me Jr has always though he was better than he was, possibly father influence and management telling him so. But if he was all that good he would have secured genuine world title shots rather than the plastic belt IBO. Given the right circumstances could Jr have been a better boxer? If I was doing a school report my grading would have been 'B' with the comment 'Had a talent but is a day dreamer, needs to concentrate and study with outside influences'.

Conor on the other hand has never had any talent, we can all look good, shadow boxing and hitting the pads but take away the chorography and smoke screen Benn has been very delusional and used his Sirname to get where he is and make money from history. Unfortunately his half brother who again had zero talent could not use the name in the same way to make his fortune. Again for school report purposes Conor would be a 'D' with a comment of, 'Conor sees his life through his father's eyes. He is believing in the flat earth conspiracy and focusses too much on trying to convince others that it is fact and not fiction. If Conor put his mind to education I think he could find the grades to become a librarian'.

Anyway if this fight does happen I think Benn might have caught Jr at the right time. There will be so much money on the line neither will care if they win or lose, because at the end of the night they will both be sat in the dressing room counting their fortunes together.

Benn is garbage at the beautiful sport we call pugilism. Conor has been far better but had a lot of action and is unarguably on the decline, while Benn has fought bugger all but may just be fresher. I just have this sneaky feeling Benn will be the victor.

It'll be interesting in Benn doesn't get a British licence and the fight happens in Saudi.

As things stand Benn couldn't fight on a Saudi show without a British license.
He said he is hoping to get it back in a few weeks.
Can't see him being cleared, but a backdated ban is more likely.
If the BBBoC doesn't play ball, they can fight with the bill being sanctioned by Luxembourg, Malta or whoever.
The BBBoC would lose sanctioning fees for the bout
