Yea, ive noticed that a bit of humour has crept in. With Mark and Declan’s writing.

Just read Graham Houston’s brilliant preview for the big fight tonight. Really sets the scene for a fight for the ages. He’s just about giving it to Bivol, but sees it almost 50-50.

As he says -
“Bivol faces the most dangerous & daunting opponent of his career. Yet one could also say that for the first time, Beterbiev is meeting an opponent with a realistic chance of beating him.”

LETS GET IT ONNNNNNN!!!!!

2 pages in total preview for the two televised UK shows this weekend.

4 pages for Tim Tszu.

WTF?

I've changed my mind now I understand how much the editor is doing to keep it going on top of his other job. I hope it keeps going and the editor seems a really nice fella who took the time to come on here too.

And I don’t think there was a preview for the Tszyu fight? I mean 4 pages on Tszyu and no word previewing his world title fight against a dangerous unbeaten puncher?!

Also - in the letters page, a page for fans to express their opinions, featuring a love letter between two of its own columnists Miles the BBBofC fake Boxing Historian Templeton and Simon Euan Smith (who previously used his own column to praise freemasonry….) .WTF?

This and its insistence on woke or bizarre articles (like the odd Malcolm X boxed a few low quality amateur bouts in prison) plus telling us how fantastic women’s boxing is? And totally avoiding the Alejandra Ayala disgrace whilst interviewing Robert Smith. Boxing News won’t last 2 years like this. Boxing News needs to back to being an independent BOXING paper like Poland Street days.

Not trying to stoke arguments but I've spoken to Miles on the phone before and he was hugely helpful. I do like his historical columns too.

Because he’s a BbbofC stooge so doesn’t address the real issues of boxing. Plus he often gets things wrong. Like Johnny Prescott’s record. plus he thinks that a 20-8 Dick tiger boxing a 2-0 Terry Downes is a reasonable piece of matchmaking because Tiger had lost to a 7-6 fighter who was actually a very good fighter who was matched hard. He’s a fraud. Grandiosely Calls himself a ‘boxing historian’, a self appointed title.

If Miles talked about the BBBofC corruption like Alejandra Ayala almost getting killed though she’d had a brain anomaly or Liam Cameron getting banned excessively for 4years for a recreational drug his opinion could be respected.

The problem with this and many forums is that posters will lay into various fighters / promoters / writers etc but as soon as they post here they all lick arse.the hypocrisy is hard to digest.

I enjoy his articles too. But he is a BBBofC ex director so can’t be impartial

How do you get to be a BBBoC stooge? Is it paid work?

Miles has posted here for years, and has earned his stripes

It's not like he turned up here in an avalanche of ass kissing after announcing himself as a BN writer

experts can be falliable too . miles obviously knows a load but he did throw his pram out and started throwing insults around when i suggested that henry cooper was a liar (Re ali-cooper). i then posted a detailed follow up with evidence to back it up and then his responses suddenly stopped

I'm just jesting mate it's a forum you can say what you like. And I get your point. On a human level when I have a bit of a go and someone comes on and responds politely, I tend to be more forgiving. That's not necessarily a good or bad trait I know. I'd be terrible on a jury "acquit them they just said they love their nan!"

And I hope BN survives too, although I'll be too busy with rimjobs to read it much tbh.

Journalistically he does the history bit, so it has nothing to do with boxing as it is.

I think he helps out in the northern area, helps out because the only paid work is in head office.

The northern area does like 3 shows a year, it's charity work.

It's folk like Miles who keep the sport going and has forgotten more than most folk know in the first place.
