Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol | ESPN - October 12, 2024
Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol | ESPN - October 12, 2024
Sure Beterbiev's putting on pressure, but I see much more of a Bivol fight so far
Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol | ESPN - October 12, 2024
How do chop down a tree ...
Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol | ESPN - October 12, 2024
58 - 56 Bivol, but Beterbiev is raising in composure and pressure.
Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol | ESPN - October 12, 2024
87 - 84 Bivol, entering in his second wind.
Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol | ESPN - October 12, 2024
Unless it changes a lot, it's plain as day for Bivol
Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol | ESPN - October 12, 2024
This is a draw.

Definitely had Bivol win fight. Sad to see. Bivol gave such a great performance.
Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol | ESPN - October 12, 2024
I had it a draw, slight edge to Bivol. I can't see 116-112 for Beterbiev. Once I heard that score, I thought Bivol had the fight.
Neither man truly deserved to lose, especially Bivol.

I'm fine with the decision.
I thought Bivol fought negative at times and didn't do much in the championship rounds. He also had a massive black eye.

Bivol is a beast but he just let himself get manhandled the last 3 rounds of a close fight. You can’t win a fight like that finishing the way that he did. Those of us rooting for Bivol were yelling at the tv to throw, tie up, pull his pants down! You don’t do that for a winning fighter. He barely made it to the bell. Let’s be honest.

I wanted Beterbiev to win, but after the fight I was convinced he would lose. Anyway it has been a great show

This looked like more of a political win, but despite leaning towards Bivol, Beterbies showed a great will to win, and hopefully we will get a rematch of this historic bout.

I thought so too. He boxed insanely well tonight.
No possible way that Beterbiev won 8 rounds to 4.
No idea either what His Excellency was saying to Bivol in that talking down he was giving to him after what remains a fantastic fight.

Because Canelo was openly using it as a strategy (including against Bivol), there's been a lot of talk lately about punching your opponent's arms and gloves. "Ooh, keep an eye on those punches," people say -- "they can do damage too." And it's true, they can. You don't want big heavy thunderous fisted guys hitting you anywhere.
But you shouldn't ever be giving rounds to a guy because he's landing big clubbing blocked shots. They are not legal scoring blows. Several times in that fight when Bivol was there for Beterbiev to rally at, Bivol was keeping his guard up throughout. And the crew on the mic would go wild like Beterbiev was landing tons of clean shots, but he wasn't at all. Punching a guy on the gloves and arms is like a non-event, scoring-wise. If anything it's credit to the one doing all the blocking.

after 5 rounds i saw scores from 5-0 bivol to 3-2 bert, first two bivol won wide then it started getting a lot harder to score. i dont have a problem with bert winning tbh
after the third i think the only round bivol won clear was the 9th

115-113 Bivol on my card. I could see 116-112 Bivol before a 114-114 card.

Should've been a draw. Something other than boxing considerations tipped the scale.

What a shock, another robbery.
Boxing is faker than WWE at the moment. For an important fight, unless there's a KO you can pretty much guarantee there are going to be shenanigans pulled.

It was a close fight and I thought Bivol won 7-5. But it wasn’t a robbery.
Close fights aren’t robberies

Eh well I had Berterbiev winning a very closely contested bout.
On Bivol:
In my view, the right man won.
On Bivol:
- landed the cleaner punches
- demonstrated an exceptionally effective high-guard
- the aggressor and workhorse
- ring generalship, in other words, he made Bivol skirt around the ring
In my view, the right man won.
