I don’t think he is. He was caught cold, and will
have been hugely embarrassed by that loss to a dude who looks 100 years old. He’s gotta be massively motivated for this chance to get things back on track so quickly.

He’s got nothing to lose here. Everyone’s expecting him to get blasted out and he’s playing with the house money. He’s got heavy hands and they could be in for real shock here, if they think this is a cakewalk.

He's just not good. Keep in mind he was holding up Miguel Vasquezs hand after their fight and admitted he lost (he lost every round) but had to backtrack after advice was given. His footwork is up there with some of the worst feet I've seen in a boxing ring. He is going to be hittable at long range vs Azims sharp straight punches. I think he will come in and throw very little. Audley Harrison vs Haye type of thing and get done by the first major attack. He will also bail out of the fight if hurt. I knew the last fight was over as soon as he went down. He wasn't exactly showing the referee he was keen on continuing both times he went down there.

Yes don't think he's shot, Barraso can really wack. But I do question his motivation. After first round KO loss he's going straight into a tough fight rather than a low-key confidence building fight or two. Which can mean he's thinking cash out fight.

I watched Barroso's last fight live and he was completely outfoxed by Andy Hiraoka. He lost all but one round and didn't trouble Hiraoka at all. People talk about OD getting caught cold, but if he was any good that wouldn't have happened against a 40 year old.

He threw a terrible right hand, left himself in an awful position and it was an easy counter left from Barroso and that was it. It was a difference in class, not a freak thing.

Anthony Yarde announces October 19 return to the ring

Anthony Yarde will resume his career on October 19 at London’s Copper Box Arena, on a promotion overseen by Boxxer.

The light heavyweight, 33, has remained inactive since stopping Marko Nikolic in three rounds in February.

He had been expected to next fight Joshua Buatsi but became involved in a dispute with Queensberry Promotions, who had guided him from the start of his career. Queensberry’s allegedly also threatened him with legal action, but Yarde’s appearance on a Boxxer promotion will revive hopes for a potential fight with Buatsi, also of Boxxer, should he win on the undercard of Adam Azim-Ohara Davies.

“On October 19, I’m back in my home city and I can’t wait,” he said. An opponent is still to be announced. “Everything about it – the occasion; the journey; the arena; the whole event – I’m very excited. The Copper Box Arena is a special venue for me. It’s near where I grew up and I’ve had some great nights there. I’ve been training hard and waiting to get back in the ring to deliver another explosive knockout performance.”

“We are excited to introduce the electrifying talent of Anthony Yarde to our High Voltage fight night on Saturday, October 19,” said Boxxer’s Ben Shalom. “It’s a huge addition to an already stacked fight card. Fans can look forward to an incredible atmosphere and an action-packed night of boxing at the Copper Box Arena in London.”

Yarde’s divisional rival Dan Azeez fights Lewis Edmondson on the same undercard that also features Michael McKinson-Tulani Mbenge at welterweight, Jeamie TKV-Franklin Ignatius at heavyweight and Francesca Hennessy’s next bantamweight contest.

Buatsi defeated Willy Hutchinson via split decision at Wembley Stadium on September 21 to remain on course to fight the winner of Artur Beterbiev-Dmitry Bivol for the undisputed title on October 12.

Former world champion Shannon Courtenay returns to the ring for the first time in almost two years
Former World Champion Shannon Courtenay returns to the ring on Saturday, October 19th at the Copper Box Arena in London.

Courtenay captured the WBA World Bantamweight Title with a unanimous points win over Ebanie Bridges at the Copper Box Arena in April 2021.

The 31-year-old from Watford is back in action for the first time since a points victory over Gemma Ruegg in December 2022 as she looks to revive her promising career and recapture world honours.

Shannon Courtenay said: “It’s been a long time coming but I’m excited to finally be back and looking to make a statement to announce myself back on the big stage and get back in the mix winning more world titles.”

BOXXER Founder and CEO Ben Shalom said: “It’s great to see Shannon back in the ring and back at the Copper Box Arena where she won her WBA World Title in 2021. Dan Azeez and Lewis Edmondson to contest British 175lbs title

Dan Azeez will have the opportunity to regain the British light-heavyweight title when he fights Lewis Edmondson at London’s Copperbox Arena on October 19.

The British Boxing Board of Control’s latest championship circular revealed that Boxxer will stage the fight on the undercard of Adam Azim’s intriguing super-lightweight clash with Ohara Davies.

Azeez, 20-1-1 (13 KOs), won the title by beating Hosea Burton in 2021 and defended it twice before losing it to Joshua Buatsi in February.

Azeez’s victory over Burton kickstarted an outstanding run that led him to the European title and turned the career underdog into a headliner. The 35 year old will next need to prove that he possesses the drive and ambition to launch another by turning back the challenge of the undefeated Edmondson.

Edmondson, 9-0 (3 KOs), has been heavily linked to a fight with Ben Whittaker but instead gets the chance to win his first professional title. Edmondson has never been beyond eight rounds and will have his stamina tested by the relentless Azeez.

Yeah, to be honest, I’ve not seen his previous few fights, so could be wildly off the mark here. I’ll be surprised if he’s completely lost his motivation though. I hope AA wins in style..let’s see if he gets a test here

Good on Dan Azeez - straight back into a title fight, no piddling around with warm-ups. He's a proper old-school fighter, particularly the way he went abroad to win the EBU title. Stylistically reminds me a bit of Sylvester Mittee. Hope he does well.
