Greg "The Flea" Richardson.

And Tony Mundine, three times - after first round loss to Luis Rodriguez in 1971, he won Australian and Commonwealth titles and challenged Monzon for the world middle title; then, after first round loss to James Marshall in 1975, he continued to defend Australian and Commonwealth titles; then after first round loss in 1977 to the fabulously named Dave Lee Royster, he rebuilt to get a WBC cruiserweight title against Mate Parlov, and was still Australian light-heavy, cruiser and heavy champion after that. Losing in the first round didn't seem to both him at all, long term.

took mccallum to a split loss as well
I don't think Michael gets enough credit for that win.
really? people wank over it every time Nunn's name is mentioned and it is also a regular mention for 'best first round KO'
Yes, but it's just my opinion.

I mean he carried on fighting but not sure he 'thrived' afterwards. He was decked a couple more times and went out on another early rounds KO.

I'd also argue that the man he beat in one round for that belt, Tommy Morrison, improved after the loss

Interesting, I remembered the Kiko loss and then seeing he'd retired quite young. Somehow missed him winning a title.

Had always though of him as a classic example of a top amateur who wasn't sturdy enough for the pros.

Ruiz had that 19 second KO

Arguello lost an early fight in the first round

2nd round but about as comprehensive as you can get but both - McCallum KO2 Jackson, Jackson KO2 Norris.

JL Ramirez lost to Olivares in 2

Moorer lost to Tua in a round and he was already on a downward trajectory but still had the Jirov win.

Witherspoon had that shock loss to Bonecrusher and whilst he never had another title shot he had some good wins.

Saman Sorjaturong did exceptionally well after being bombed out in 2 rounds by Lopez.

Larios got stretched in a round by Issy Vasquez and it seemed to do him no harm. Vasquez also lost an early fight in a round.

Let's see what Shalom is made of......
Brilliant hindsight, it was Khans PPV debut, advertising him "joining the legends on Sky", he was a lightweight being matched with superfeatherweights with low power and being dropped (Warren saw the Craig Watson knockdown right before Khan turned pro)

This was the first fighter he had faced who was taller than him, the same weightclass as him, and a puncher. Warren blamed it on Jorge Rubio suggesting Prescott as an opponent

The Ariza shakes got him through Maidana

Remember when boxingnews24 was EastSideBoxing and actually had good articles?? This one looks a blinder in hindsight eh

After the Ryan Barrett fight

"Amir Khan: Does He Have A Weak Chin? November 30, 2006"

"This looks to be a very weak standard of opposition, in both senses of the word. The fighter with the highest Ko percentage, Vitali Martynov, was knocked down twice and TKO’d in the second round in the fight preceding the Khan bout, and that was by a feather-fisted Willy Blain (9-0, 1Ko going in). This makes me think that allegedly had confidence that his boy would knock him out before he could unleash. This turned out to be the case, as Khan stopped Martynov in 1:15 of the first. The point that I am making is that Warren seems to be afraid to put Khan in with anyone who can hit."

A few of us spotted it early

Cornelius Bundrage. Won a couple of world title fights after the wild 30 second loss to Sechew Powell, even beat Powell (on points) in a rematch. Probably made the most of his talent getting that far, is it unfair to say?

that's a good one Skelton had big one punch power when he could get it through he levelled McDermott in that first round, remember him bending Tom Dallas backwards over the ropes hammerfisting him to submission

It was fight of the year against Ricardo Cordoba, who took Rigondeaux to a split and definately gave him his proper welcome to the pros, knocking him down in round six too, Rigos hardest pro fight up until giant Amagasa then Lomachenko

It was a crazy fight between Cordoba and Dunne and a legit great fight, great win

Steve Cruz, stopped in one round as a prospect, and probably the reason they picked him as a opponent for Barry McGuigan’s world title defence in the Las Vegas desert, where Cruz went onto score a huge upset over the clones cyclone

I remember the Cornish 1st round KO against AJ, bless him, he did come back to challenge for the British title and went out on a win too, think he had to retire due to injury. I wonder what he's doing now? I always liked him as he always worked full time as well as boxing, always respect that as it must be 3 x as hard to juggle boxing with work.

He won 3 then lost on points against Sam Sexton for the British title. Then won his next fight first round KO and then retired.
