I have just noticed that I only have 6 boxers on my watchlist of 64 boxers with fights scheduled. Not only has my watchlist halved in recent years but the number of scheduled fights has. It's worth noting that four of the fights are top matchups (Taylor/Serrano, CBS/Ramirez, Yafai/Edwards and Usyk/Fury) and one not great fight (Davis/Roach). I think the problem we currently have is depth. The Saudi's are making big fights at the top and everyone is waiting for that payday. Others are mostly inactive or crushing cans until they get called up. This is not a new phenomenon but it's adjusted slightly to what it was before as we get the big fights but the second tier of fights are possibly happening less frequently.

We're also a bit of an in-between time, where the end of year/December Japanese bouts haven't been announced and others have just fought - not sure if this effects your watchlist, though, Inoue's next fight is supposed to be announced tomorrow for example

Yeah, not too sure. I just checked it earlier and it was looking pretty empty.

Seeing as how I mostly can't even watch it these days I'm just kinda indifferent to it. Aware of the big fights, and seeing highlights of them. Missing everything else.

Not really, too many PPVs across too many platforms with undercards I'm not all that interested in.

The RIyadh season cards are on all PPV platforms.

So it;s not like it's different cards.

(Sorry maybe some confusion I was responding to the title question with "Not really" rather than what you said above me). But they are different issues for me

In Japan, I believe can only get Riyadh season cards through DAZN Japan
(1) DAZN subs + PPV = double dipping

US PPVs and cards (e.g. ESPN) may or may not get shown on another network called Wowow. Amazon Japan does not have the PBC cards.
(2) Finding the correct network (+ subs) or using a VPN then finding the correct network = too much effort

Boxing is doing fine. To me, they have had the ingredients to be so much more but you’ve got the same boring business scheme in place. One or two huge fights per year and the rest of cards are showcase fights to pad records. Rarely do we witness a great upset and great upsets are what the sport is all about. To me, 95% of the fights booked clearly have a favorite going into it.

For Boxing to really make the most out of its potential, the main event bouts on a card need to be 50/50, 60/40 or even 70/30. Most cards, you are lucky to get a pick em’ fight to end the night. Perhaps the Sheik’s money can change some of this.

We started off getting big heavyweight bills but now all the poxy lower weights have saturated. I don't like this

Lighter weights always produce more consistent higher level boxing, there's just more of them.
