“He [called me] and said, ‘Is your mum there? Can I speak to her, please?’ We’re all worried about burying my brother, how will we get money, we’ve all got mortgages to pay and no one’s working. I was stressed, I was under a lot of pressure, and he went, ‘Alice, do you mind if I get it?’ My mum didn’t quite hear him. That's the move of a Champ. Fair play AJ. Quality.
And no one the wiser until Kevin told the story.

"Our concern at the moment is just timing," Hearn told Sky Sports. "You've got a few little niggles, you get them looked at and then you can't punch again for four, five weeks. If we're going to fight him in February, we need to start camp in about three weeks' time. It's quite a fast turnaround."

Hearn continued: "Ideally we'd like to return around May time. It does feel as though it's coming on quite quickly.

"From a body perspective we could probably do with a little bit more time ideally. Sometimes it's not ideal and you just go for it. But we just need to decide are we going to be ready.

"[Joshua] has told me categorically: 'I want the rematch.' But it's just a case of whether he's going to be ready for February and that's something they're going to have to decide.

"It's not ruled out. But we do appreciate it's a fast turnaround."

Dubois will fight regardless.

This was supposed to be the 5 v 5 card too. I mean the undercard can all be 5v5 anyway and Dubois can headline

I think they will probably push for a shit or bust fight with Fury next summer. Get it over and done with.

I think the only sticking point for AJ is the date.

being objective - why would the camp want aj to go and rematch ddd after that poor performance and risk getting done again in the same way when there is a much bigger fight with fury available next summer that would be a huge moneyspinner for both fighters with potential rematches .

I think he would like more recovery time, which isn't unreasonable. You'd want to enter the ring in the best condition possible. If they don't fight, DDD will find another dance partner and the AJ rematch will still be there.

Joshua vs Dubs was the wrong fight anyways after that drubbing.

I doubt they fight again, but if they did then it will be after Dubois gets beaten up. If it happens.

Eddie to do the Joshua vs White comeback fight and sell DA BEEF.

Hadn't seen this (was stalking my old posting mate CP), nice touch from AJ. I met Vinny briefly with Kevin when they were kids, seemed like good lads. RIP.
