Trouble is a matchup between Fury & AJ is looking more likely to happen only if Fury is beaten by Usyk. If Fury wins he wants to do a trilogy with Usyk rather than leave it 1-1.

So then, if Fury loses, do they make Fury v AJ as the battle of the losers? Both having lost to Usyk twice, Fury possibly even beaten by a wrestler and AJ having had his clock cleaned by Dubois? The timing couldn't be worse in regards to the promotion of this fight. If it wasn't for the Saudis I'd give it very little chance of ever happening.
They will all do what the Saudis want them to do. I think the Saudis want Fury vs Joshua, whether Fury wins or loses against Usyk. If he wins, I think they'll tell Usyk to wait for his rematch until Fury vs Joshua is out of the way first, and if Fury loses, then of course the Joshua fight is the natural one to make.

It might not be what us hardcores want to hear, but win or lose the time to make the AJ-Fury fight is as soon as possible. I would imagine it's Turki that's told AJ he's not rematching Dubois straight away, as another bad loss puts the kibosh on the long mooted Fury fight probably forever, and they don't want that. I imagine if Fury wins, they will want Fury-AJ, and Usyk rematching Dubois, and then the respective winners facing off, for all the marbles again.

It may not be to the taste of the hardcore fans, as we all love Usyk. But Fury and AJ are the big names. And the Saudis want to put on the biggest possible fights. Maybe I'm wrong. But that's what I think they will want.

Is Turki that invested in Fury v AJ? He's not British and only wants the best fighting the best.

Well stop saying he wants the fight then. The whole team literally work for him.
other than in the days straight after the fight i havent seen any evidence of joshua himself actually saying he wants the rematch .

Of course he is. He wants to make Conor Benn vs Eubank Jnr. Is that the best fighting the best?

I think Turki's a boxing fan and, even though it's lost a fair bit of its original lustre, the majority of boxing fans would still like to see Fury vs Joshua, including Mr Turki Mcklurky.

What Turki is interested in, is the fights that will generate the most noise.

Like or not, Eubank vs Benn would be a very high profile fight.

He spoke of “rolling the dice” afterwards and his promoter spoke of a rematch. They talked the talk.......

Just seen that FW says it won't be Wardley, it will be Zhang or Parker.

I think they are both with Fast Car, so that suggests Turki wants another 5 v 5 type of thing

AJ ain't going to be ready for Feb. It's no big deal, there'll be fights there when he's ready.

Zhang last signed with Frank.

Parker is basically unattached.

Joe parker is the biggest draw from the available options for February by a country mile .

Terrible if Zhang gets it ahead of Parker who just beat him. The only guy that Zhang beat recently, Parker also beat.

Parker has earned it the most.

Bakole or Kabayel would be next in line coming off good wins.

Wardley I could understand as an in-house all-British voluntary.

I don’t think it’s particularly terrible if Zhang gets it ahead of Parker.

For me Zhang could have got a draw vs Parker and hrg (not saying he did, saying he could have).

Zhang has the scariest run of anyone right now.

Hrgovic was a bit of a boogie man befor zhang mad him look eh.

Joyce was in many eyes top 3, and one of the scariest guys to fight… Zhang stopped him twice and took him from bookie man to journeyman (not litraly)…

Parker was and is a top top guy.

Wilder is scary as fornicate for a big slow guy like Zhang.

It’s not horrible if we reward a guy that has stepped up, taken risks, and thrown bombs.

I don't know anyone who had Joyce top 3...

My reasoning for Zhang not being a good pick over Parker is because using the same metric, Parker is way above Zhang. Parker beat Zhang and Zhang has not done anything Parker hasn't done since to deserve the shot. I rate Zhang pretty highly but to be the devil's advocate, he's also only got wins over Wilder and Joyce who have both been exposed as past it/frauds. The other guys, Kabayel and Bakole, have put good wins together which the future will tell whether they're better than Zhang's wins but right now they're not better than Parker's wins.

In an interview with Sky Sports, allegedly, who promotes Dubois and Wardley, gave an update on who the IBF champion could face next and explained why it will not be Wardley.

"He won't get the fight next, we never even discussed that. Fabio would like it, I'm sure," Warren said.

"But we're in discussions at the moment with a couple of people [to fight Dubois].

"Fabio needs to fight somebody in the top 10 now and do what he's capable of doing and showing the world what he's all about.

"We can build that into being a mega, mega fight that will fill the likes of Wembley with two big punchers like that.

"That's what we've got to work towards. In the meantime for Daniel, we're quite near to announcing something in the next week or so. That will be a big fight for him in February."

I myself don’t care about the logical arguments about whether Parker is more worthy of the ‘title’ shot. I mean this is boxing and it would hardly be the biggest injustice ever.

I would just much rather see Zhang-Dubois than Parker-Dubois. By a factor of about 100

Yep, I think Parker has earned it the most. Zhang getting a title shot is totally undeserved. I didn't think Joshua earned it either, but the belt was gifted to DDD from a guy who beat him conclusively - so a tough first defence was warranted.

okay lemme get this straight :

parker deserves it more than anyone

zhang is totally undeserved

i mean the difference between them is an md where parker was down twice and had his face busted. zhang also twice ko'd a guy who stopped parker. where does this massive gulph in deserving-ness come from?

are we gonna complain if ddd-zhang is made?
