You won’t be able to get odds on that as it’s 100% certain.jameswilson wrote: ↑04 Dec 2021, 12:59 What money on Adam Smith growling ‘aaaand theeeeeeeres the power!!!!’ after his debut knockout win?

Naw Fraser has a good chin. Whenever I see him though he looks like he plays Rugby for the all blacks…JamesPhilips wrote: ↑04 Dec 2021, 15:31 Fra[quote=Stewart post_id=5664801 time=1638646079 user_id=125563]

Re: Frazer Clarke Signs With BOXXER & Sky Sports
Fraser is obv decent but the talent is deep in the UK at the moment.
Take us back to the 80's and he would have been the next big thing but now he is going to struggle to be top 10 in the British rankings.

Funny that none of us were waiting with baited breath here. Is this the heavyweight Olympian with the least hype turning over?
Joe Joyce isn’t great behind the mic but he did have tough fights early. Say what you want about Lewison and Lenroy Thomas but Joyce fighting those in the first few fights did generate hype and interest.
I’m not sure we will see matchmaking that bold again with a British heavyweight.

The prob is there are too many good Brit fighters at the weight.jameswilson wrote: ↑05 Dec 2021, 11:09 Funny that none of us were waiting with baited breath here. Is this the heavyweight Olympian with the least hype turning over?

I guess in that sense being on sky or terrestrial would be best for him to get him as much exposure as possible. In two years time when he’s into 10 and 12 rounders Fury will be gone, Joyce will likely be soon to retire and who knows with AJ.Coco wrote: ↑05 Dec 2021, 11:20The prob is there are too many good Brit fighters at the weight.jameswilson wrote: ↑05 Dec 2021, 11:09 Funny that none of us were waiting with baited breath here. A bit bah humbug of me I know but I would say the Brits are "ok" but its more of case of the whole division is pretty poor. The 3rd or 4th ranked Heavyweight CANNOT fight going backwards and has about 3 rounds in him before he gasses. Actually on the last display could say something similar about the other contender for the 3rd or 4th best heavyweight (AJ).Coco wrote: ↑05 Dec 2021, 11:20The prob is there are too many good Brit fighters at the weight.jameswilson wrote: ↑05 Dec 2021, 11:09 Funny that none of us were waiting with baited breath here. Perhaps it is my age and a bit of rose tinted specs. I used to absolutely lambast as much as anyone the likes of Skelton and Danny Williams when they were fighting each other. Skelton got pretty comfortably beaten by Chagaev. I honestly think that Skelton vs Dillion Whyte would be a hell of a fight and a tough one to call. We talk about the Klitchscko era being poor, but Skelton was not near the top 10 really - Dillion Whyte is pretty much universally recognised as the 5th best heavyweight on the planet right now!
The other classic example is Derrick Chisroa - revitalised in his late 30's? Better than ever? Or is it just a product that the division is crap - this was a guy who was outclassed and brutally KO'd by David Haye, who the fight before had his embarrassing fight with Klitschsko.
A geniune world class Heavyweight SHOULD be beating the likes of Lenroy Thomas on their pro debuts. I've not seen anything in Clarke other than - oh he's a lump really, but I will add depth to the division no doubt - it is good in the UK - you could - with a bit of luck make a claim for 6 Brits to be in the worlds top 10 - yes Hughie Fury and DDD being in the 10 might be a bit much, but not by a lot and if Chisora upsets Parker then he also might move into the top 10.
I think Michael Hunter, who I know had a setback at the weekend really shows the lack of talent in the Heavyweight division. He was a good, but hardly menacing cruiserweight. but its as if the weight hasn't made a difference because he is still a top 10 heavyweight.

The depth is poor enough that being a good lump is okay. People like Lance Whittaker had something of a career just by being well matched and hanging in there. As long as Fraser has a good chin?
Re: Frazer Clarke Signs With BOXXER & Sky Sports
Same, second tier possibly.
If styles make fights, I'd love to see him fight Joe Joyce once he gets ten or so fights under his belt.
The slowness of the HW division means he will have to step up quickly even at 30. Right now it can take up to 3 years once your a #1 contender.

“Frazer Clarke, first of all, thankfully no real long, long-term damage,”
“He had that brain scan, and it was a sigh of relief for everyone involved.
“It was operated on without plates and without screws which is another massive plus. He will need the rest of the year to recover before he can get back in a gym.
“April for us is a target month so to be sat here now talking about when he might next fight is testament to him because that can affect you physically, psychologically.
“But the way he has dealt with it, the way he has come on, the way he is now talking, the motivation to get back in there is great to see.
“Big Frazer is a big fan favourite and I think he can use this experience to go on and achieve what we all know he is capable of.”
In terms of who may come next for Clarke, promotional stablemate Jeamie Tshikeva (7-1) is a name being mentioned, alongside the likes of popular domestic contender Johnny Fisher (12-0).

He signed a 3-year deal in late 2021, according to the OP, so he's maybe a free agent now.
Wonder if he will jump ship? He was at a Warren event recently and said he was there "to talk business".

Re: Frazer Clarke Signs With BOXXER & Sky Sports
Must be devastating to be a HW Olympic medalist and never get a taste of the real action. The real money.
I mean an Olympic medal for a British HW should automatically guarantee millions. But sadly, as we saw with David Price, it doesn't always go to plan.
Joe Joyce, who I am a big fan of, did get a taste, and proved himself world class. I think he will still come back for another bite at the big time.
Hope Frazer can too. Any HW can get mugged in a round. If he has the right mind frame he can still push on.
Wish him all the best of luck.

I bet he earned handsomely for the Wardley fight as it was in Saudi.

Get a fight with Joyce, rather that someone like Fisher which means nothing

I’m sure I read it wasn’t more than £500k..jameswilson wrote: ↑07 Nov 2024, 12:14 I bet he earned handsomely for the Wardley fight as it was in Saudi.
Or was that the first bout? I can’t remember now.

Yeah looked what the media said (obviously this may be wrong) and they say 500k for Wardley and 350k for Clarke which is a lot less than I expected from the chief support of a Saudi bill.
Re: Frazer Clarke Signs With BOXXER & Sky Sports
I hope he’s looked after his money and gets out now as I fall to see where he can go after a loss like that
