Jake Paul-Mike Tyson Rescheduled For Nov. 15

The controversial fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul has been rescheduled for November 15.

As had previously been planned for July 20, the venue will remain the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The 57-year-old Tyson becoming unwell during a flight in May and therefore being taken to hospital had forced its postponement, and contributed to speculation that the rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano would be relocated to Frankfurt, Germany,

For all of the growing concerns surrounding Tyson’s health and the wisdom of him fighting someone who has been active and who is 30 years his junior, however, they will instead fight four months later.

“New date, same place, same fate,” Paul wrote on social media.

“The upcoming highly anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will unfortunately be postponed,” read a statement from Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions when they were first forced to abandon their plans for the fight on July 20. “During a follow-up consultation on Thursday with medical professionals on his recent ulcer flare up, the recommendation is for Mike Tyson to do minimal to light training over the next few weeks and then return to full training with no limitations.

“Both Mike and Jake are in agreement that it is only fair to ensure that both athletes have equal training time to prepare for this important match and are able to compete at the highest level.”

Mario Barrios-Abel Ramos confirmed for Jake Paul-Mike Tyson undercard

Mario Barrios will defend his WBC welterweight title against Abel Ramos on the undercard of Jake Paul-Mike Tyson on November 15.

The ill-advised contest between Paul and Tyson, at the AT&T Stadium in Texas, was already on course to be supported by the rematch at super lightweight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano.

Barrios agreeing to fight Ramos will regardless at least delay potential plans for him to fight Manny Pacquiao in what – should it come to pass – could prove a similarly ill-advised comeback for the retired Filipino.

“I’m thrilled to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime event,” said Barrios, 29. “The fight on the Jake Paul versus Mike Tyson card is huge, with millions watching live on Netflix. Abel Ramos is a tough Mexican fighter, just like me, so I know it’ll be a hell of a fight in front of my Texas people at the Dallas Cowboys’ stadium.

“I’m also excited to showcase my indigenous roots on this global platform. Don’t miss this fight – it’s going to be war, Puro San Antonio!”

Ramos, 33 and like Barrios of Mexican-American descent, said of the fight: “I’m very excited to be fighting for the WBC title and I’m looking forward to a great fight against Mario Barrios.

“He’s a warrior just like me and I’m going to give the fans at Cowboys Stadium and those watching around the world on Netflix an exciting fight on Friday, November 15th.”

Netflix Unveils Sponsors for Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Fight

Netflix has lined up five sponsors for its live boxing match next month pitting veteran pugilist Mike Tyson and influencer-turned-fighter Jake Paul.

The streamer has inked deals with energy-drink brand Celsius, DraftKings Sportsbook, Experian, Meta Quest and beer brand Spaten (Brazil) as presenting sponsors for the fight and related programming. Magno Herran, Netflix’s VP of global marketing partnerships, made the announcement Monday at Variety’s inaugural Content Meets Commerce Summit, presented by Kinesso, in New York.

The Paul-Tyson boxing match will stream live on Netflix from the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Nov. 15 starting at 8 p.m. ET. Netflix is teaming with Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) for the event, headlined by Jake “El Gallo” Paul (10-1, 7 KOs) versus Mike “Baddest Man on the Planet” Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs).

All five participating Netflix partners will be “seamlessly” featured throughout the Paul-Tyson livestream with logo placements and in-broadcast custom integrations, according to Herran. Throughout the four-day event — from open workouts and weigh-ins to the final fight — the sponsors’ logos will receive “organic” placements and the five brand partners also will engage fans with on-site activations, watch parties and custom social content.

The broadcast will feature Celsius’s “Essential Energy Highlight of the Fight,” which will showcase the best moments from the main events. The segment will run after each fight and feature the winning moments of the match. DraftKings Sportsbook will present a “Tale of the Bet,” an on-screen educational gambling segment that informs the audience about current betting markets and predictions (appearing only in the U.S.). Additionally, Meta Quest and Experian will present pre-fight segments featuring fighter bios, records and more.

On fight night, Celsius and DraftKings Sportsbook will have their logos directly on the mat (Celsius as the center logo partner and DraftKings Sportsbook in the corner positions) and Meta Quest, Experian and Spaten will be showcased on the ropes. Brand partners will also be present throughout the event, appearing on backdrops, ribbons and fight cards.

The Paul vs. Tyson match-up is part of Netflix’s small but growing live-programming slate, which has included the Netflix Cup golf and Netflix Slam tennis tournaments. In its biggest foray yet into live sports, Netflix acquired worldwide streaming rights to two NFL games on Christmas Day 2024 (Chiefs vs. Steelers and Ravens vs. Texans). In addition, Netflix will stream at least one holiday football game in 2025 and 2026 under the three-year deal.

The much-hyped fight between Paul, 27, and Tyson, 58, had been initially slated for July, but was moved to November after MVP announced a postponement due to Tyson’s need to recover from an ulcer flare-up.

Ahead of the Paul-Tyson fight, Netflix will premiere a three-part docuseries, “Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson,” promises a look at the training camps and provide “intimate access” to the two fighters. “Countdown” will debut its first two episodes on Nov. 7, with its third and final episode streaming on Nov. 12, three days before Paul and Tyson meet in the ring.

Eddie Hearn rips into Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight

The renowned boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has labeled the upcoming fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, scheduled for November in Texas, as “dangerous, irresponsible, and disrespectful to boxing.” Hearn expressed his concern over the return of Tyson, 58, who hasn’t fought professionally since 2005. On the other hand, Jake Paul, 27, has won 10 of his 11 professional bouts.

Hearn will attend the event to support Katie Taylor in her rematch against Amanda Serrano, but he will leave before the main fight.

“The reality is that 20 years ago when Mike Tyson retired from the sport he was shot, completely finished,” Hearn said. “It was actually sad to watch then, 20 years ago.”

Eddie Hearn stated to BBC Sports that he considers it risky for Tyson to return to the ring for a professional fight. It’s worth mentioning that Tyson fought in an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020.

“I’m in awe of him. He’s one of my favorite fighters ever, one of the greatest of all time, but he’s a 58-year-old man,” Hearn added.

“You only need to speak to him and look at him to know this guy should not be in a ring again.”

A fight driven by money

The fight between Tyson and Paul, set to take place at the Dallas Cowboys stadium, has been widely criticized for the age and experience gap. Jake Paul has defended the fight, claiming Tyson’s experience levels the playing field. However, Eddie Hearn disagrees. “If I was Jake Paul, I’d just feel a bit embarrassed, to be honest with you.” “This is dangerous, irresponsible, and, in my opinion, disrespectful to the sport of boxing,” Hearn declared.

Hearn also pointed out that the fight was previously postponed due to Tyson’s health issues, which should have been a warning sign. He expressed that money can sometimes lead to bad decisions when referring to the Paul vs Tyson fight.

“Everybody loves a dollar bill, including me, but sometimes the green-eyed monster can make you make bad decisions—and I think this is one of them,” Hearn said.

Eddie Hearn supports Taylor vs Serrano, but will avoid the main event

Despite his criticisms, Hearn will attend the event to support Katie Taylor in her rematch against Amanda Serrano. Taylor, 38, will face Serrano in one of the most significant fights in women’s boxing. Hearn highlighted that this fight represents the biggest payday of Taylor’s career. However, he confirmed that he will not watch the fight between Tyson and Paul and will leave after Taylor’s match.

“I won’t be watching the main event. We’ll be there defending the belts, and then I’ll be off,” Hearn concluded.

Is this an exhibition or “proper” fight?

Really don’t want to see Tyson hurt, but that’s what will happen. The guys 55 and was losing by KO to Danny Williams and Kevin McBride 20 years ago!

"Mike Tyson" actually turned 58, this past June.

While "Jake Paul" is 27..?

Hopefully it's just going to be an exhibition, even if they're saying it's a sanctioned bout at the moment.

I'm 54 myself. I understand how the human body works.
I've played quite a bit of various sports throughout my life, including being an avid martial arts practitioner for a good relatively consistent time span.

That Holyfield-Belfort bout from 2021 should be able to say something to people, pertaining to this matter.
Holyfield was 58 in that bout as well. While Belfort was 44, and had been retired from mma for a good while.
Holyfield didn't last the full duration of the first round, versus a very over the hill mma fighter, trying an unfamiliar sport(Boxing), yet it looked like more of a mismatch than Tyson-M. Spinks, Coetzee-L. Spinks, Liston-Patterson 1 and II, Norris-J. Gatti, Leonard-Price, Leonard-Gonzalez, etc.

Yeah, in conclusion to my point, if it's decided to be merely a light playful Exhibition, then whatever.
If they're going to be trading big blows then it can only spell disaster for the Much Older fellow in this scenario.
Jake is only disliked by many, right now, but if he goes full ham on an old legend, he's going to be despised and basically shunned from the sport of boxing. It really is that simple of an analytical conclusion.

Preliminaries confirmed for Jake Paul-Mike Tyson undercard

Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) have announced the three-bout preliminary card for the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson and Amanda Serrano vs. Katie Taylor II event on Friday, November 15, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Headlining the preliminary card is MVP’s Shadasia “The Sweet Terminator” Green against Melinda “The Whip” Watpool for the vacant WBO super middleweight world title in a 10-rounder.

Green (14-1, 11 KOs), a former college basketball star and Team USA boxing silver medalist, joined MVP in January 2023. She debuted with a TKO victory over former unified titleholder Elin Cederroos and secured a unanimous decision win over Olivia Curry in August 2023. In December, Green, 35, from Patterson, New Jersey, lost via unanimous decision to Franchon Crews-Dezurn in her bid for the vacant WBC super middleweight title. She rebounded with a unanimous decision win over Natasha Spence in July, reclaiming her position as the WBO’s No. 1 contender.

Watpool (7-0, 2 KOs) is the WBO No. 2 super middleweight who defeated Spence in September 2024, a rematch from the year prior. The five-time Canadian amateur champion from Pefferlaw, Ontario, Watpool has fought twice in 2024, winning both bouts via unanimous decision.

Undefeated lightweight Lucas “Prince” Bahdi (17-0, 15 KOs) will face veteran Corey “2Smoove” Marksman (10-0-1, 7 KOs) in a 10-round lightweight bout.

Bahdi, 30, from Niagara Falls, Ontario, shocked the world with a sixth-round knockout of Ashton Sylve in Tampa, Florida. He enters this fight on a four-fight knockout streak.

Marksman, a 24-year-old prospect from Orlando, Florida, has fought three times this year, including two bouts against Tony Aguilar. His first fight in February ended in a draw, but he won a majority decision over Aguilar in July to put him in position for this matchup.

Opening the preliminary card is a featherweight bout between Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington (13-0, 8 KOs) and Dana “Deadly” Coolwell (13-2, 8 KOs). Carrington, a rising featherweight from Brownsville, New York, is ranked No. 2 by the WBC and WBO. The 27-year-old began his career with a gold medal at the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials and recently won a hard-fought majority decision over Sulaiman Segawa in September, snapping a three-fight knockout streak.

Coolwell, a 25-year-old from Australia, is on a six-fight win streak and will be fighting in the U.S. for the first time in his career.

Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions, stated, “From start to finish, Paul vs. Tyson will deliver an exciting night of boxing to fans at AT&T Stadium and across the globe on Friday, November 15, beginning with an action-packed preliminary card.” He highlighted Green’s return to title contention and expressed excitement for the diversity and talent represented on the card.

The main event features Jake Paul against Mike Tyson in an eight-round heavyweight bout. In the co-main event, Katie Taylor defends her titles against Amanda Serrano in a highly anticipated rematch. Additionally, reigning WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios faces Abel Ramos in a 12-round championship fight, while super middleweight Neeraj Goyat takes on Whindersson Nunes in a six-round fight. The card will be broadcast on Netflix.

Paul is a semi competent boxer now, in his physical prime

Tyson is an old marijuana addict who got beat up by kevin mcbride 20 years ago. He just had a medical episode. He has 2 shot knees

Tyson might compete for a couple minutes. Or its more than likely a fix

Press Release

Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) announced that Italy’s Armando Casamonica (14-0, 3 KOs) has joined the preliminary card of the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson and Serrano vs. Taylor 2 mega-event on Friday, November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Casamonica will go head-to-head in a 10-round lightweight bout with Canada’s Lucas “Prince” Bahdi (17-0, 15 KOs), a top lightweight contender who also boasts Italian heritage. Casamonica steps in after Corey Marksman was forced to withdraw with an injury. The preliminary card of Paul vs. Tyson begins at 5:30pm ET / 4:30pm CT and will stream live on Most Valuable Promotions’ YouTube and Netflix Sports YouTube. You can also see more on fight night at Tudum. Paul vs. Tyson and Taylor vs. Serrano 2 will air live globally on Netflix on Friday, November 15 at 5pm PT / 8pm ET and is anticipated to be the biggest boxing event in modern history. Fans can purchase tickets now at seatgeek.com.

Born into the Casamonica Clan, the most feared family in Rome and throughout the Lazio region, Armando has decided to pursue his family’s legacy of dynasty through violence in the boxing ring. With generations of family history to study, Armando has learned the techniques and methods of the Casamonica Clan and translated that into the art of boxing. Hitting, dodging and dancing are the arts that he has learned but his street smarts and lethal killer instinct are inherited. Armando became the new Italian super lightweight champion in May of 2024, and won his first title defense in October bringing his professional record to 14-0. In Casamonica tradition, it will be the first of many assets he will seek to acquire and control at all costs.

“It’s an immense honor to represent my family and our legacy on the biggest stage in boxing,” said Armando Casamonica. “Boxers dream of nights like this—fighting under the lights at AT&T Stadium, in front of millions of fans around the world, including my fans at home in Italy, on Netflix. Thank you to MVP for this opportunity, I’m bringing everything I’ve got to this fight, and Lucas Bahdi better be ready because history meets destiny on Friday, November 15th.”

Lucas “Prince” Bahdi (17-0, 15 KOs) comes to the ring by way of Niagara Falls, Ontario. The 30-year-old top contender, who is also half Italian, has gone undefeated since making his professional debut in mid-2019, winning his first 11 fights by knockout. Bahdi had unanimous decision wins against Diego Fabian Eligio and Diego Andrade Chavez in 2022 before resuming his knockout streak. In May 2023, Bahdi defeated Jesus Amparan to claim the IBF North American Lightweight title. Bahdi is a top-ranked lightweight by both the IBF and WBA and most recently, proved himself among the best title contenders in the lightweight division when he scored a knockout of the year contender win over H2O Sylve on the main card of Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry in July 2024.

“Undefeated fighters always fight hard to protect their records and I expect that Armando Casamonica will do that, but I’m also undefeated and will fight even harder than him,” said Lucas Bahdi. “ I can’t wait to put on a show on Friday, November 15.”

“This is exactly the kind of matchup that represents MVP’s vision— global fighters with extraordinary skills and stories that inspire,” said Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of MVP. “Armando Casamonica brings not only talent but also a powerful connection to his heritage that will resonate with fans across Italy and beyond. And with Lucas Bahdi, we have a fighter who is ready to reign in his weight class. It’s a clash of cultures, pride, and raw talent that is going to light up the night.”

The Paul vs. Tyson main event will feature the 8-round heavyweight battle between international superstar Jake “El Gallo” Paul (10-1, 7 KOs) vs. The Baddest Man on the Planet Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs). In the co-main event, undisputed super lightweight champion Katie Taylor (23-1, 6 KOs) will put all her super lightweight belts on the line against boxing trailblazer and unified featherweight champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano (47-2-1, 31 KOs) in a 10-round women’s championship fight, the most anticipated women’s boxing rematch in history. Also on the main card will be the 12-round men’s championship fight for the WBC welterweight title between reigning champion Mario “El Azteca” Barrios (29-2, 18 KOs) vs. Abel Ramos (28-6-2, 22 KOs) and a 6-round super middleweight fight between India’s number one boxer and MVP’s first international signee Neeraj Goyat (18-4-2, 8 KOs) vs. Brazil’s multi-talented superstar Whindersson Nunes (2-2-1, 1 KO combined boxing record). Headlining the preliminary card will be MVP’s super middleweight powerhouse and the WBO’s #1 contender Shadasia “The Sweet Terminator” Green (14-1, 11 KOs) vs. the WBO’s #2 contender Melinda “The Whip” Watpool (7-0, 2 KO) in a 10 round women’s championship fight contested at 168 lbs for the vacant WBO super middleweight world title. Joining Green and Watpool on the preliminary card, will be an 8 round featherweight fight between two standout prospects, Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington Jr. (13-0, 8 KOs) and Australian action fighter Dana “Deadly” Coolwell (13-2, 8 KOs).

I started the Netflix series on the build up to the fight. Two things I learnt, Tyson lost 26lbs when the fight was cancelled due to his stomach ulcer and two Tyson never brushes his teeth, this was confirmed by his daughter and Tyson himself.
