It’s been a great 12 months of boxing. Long may it continue for however long it does.
Aye, cause none of the other countries you mention treat women like second class citizens, or murder journalists
Not strictly true. I was playing Golf once at a course in Queensland. In the clubhouse they had a lounge with a sign above the door that read " No dogs or women allowed"

The Saudis just need time. Women have been the rubbing rags of all societies at some point. It's not an exclusively Saudi thing. Check out the history of the states or South Africa, or Belgium.

The Saudi are no worse than any of these
C'mon the Saudis ARE worse.
But overall it's been fantastic - I let the sportwashing work.

The original arguments in favour of pay per view were that it's the only way to provide decent bills.

Now the same argument is dredged up for the saudi shows.

The quality over time will definitely slide

They doing £20 ppv's which is better than the recent £25 increase.

For now, it's enjoyable

I think all of the media attention is highlighting the issues that we see as wrong and that's a good thing.

Short term it's been great for us fans.

Long term something tells me it will have a negative effect..

I'm ignorant but does anyone know what the impact all of their chucking money at the top end of the sport is having on grass roots boxing and the smaller shows that are the breeding ground of tomorrow's boxing stars?

Are they doing anything to invest in the long term future of the sport? Again just posing the question.

Money.

They also went into Afghanistan all guns blazing after 9/11.

Maybe it was all a diversion tactic to enable them to take certain freedoms away from the citizens, a bit like they did during covid and don't forget who profits from war.

Some of the most powerful people in the U.S are the owners behind weapons companies . It's a 2.5 trillion dollar industry.
Wars are good for business and they pay well to be looked after.

Same with big pharma. Massively influential. How else do you explain the government sponsored opiod crisis in tye states, where doctors will prescribe Oxytocin like sweets in the name of profit. They sell whole communities down the river and decimate generations through addiction

Iraq had nothing to do with this. It was a bunch of Saudi Arabians, Lebanese, and Egyptians, financed by a Saudi Arabian guy living in Afghanistan and sheltered by Pakistanis

Pick out the countries that have had state sponsored assassinations of journalists and you might see a trend in those countries...

If you look through the rights that women are getting each year you will realise how archaic it still is. The rights they've been given now allowed to play football or they are allowed to go on pilgrimage without permission if they register in advance. They're finally allowed to live alone without their guardian's permission. Though, they still are not able to do many things without a guardian's permission, that's a male guardian that they don't even get to choose. They're considered to rank 126/146 for women's rights across the globe. Suggesting that they're doing a good job is terrible as they could change it over ight if they wanted to as it's a dictatorship, not a bureaucratic system. At the current rate they'd get to the top 50 in 100 years or more. It's still gender apartheid.

Not yet, they are still voting on reducing the marriage age for girls to 9.
Let's hope they carry on in this liberating way, old men need child brides too.
