Usyk and two more fights.
Usyk and two more fights.
Thoughts on how many more defenses Usyk will make and possible scenarios?
I really only see two more fights in his future.
1- He fights Fury in December and, upon winning, he
2- fights Daniel Dubois again in 2025.
Or he
1- fights Fury in December and loses which would hopefully
2- prompt a trilogy 3rd fight in 2025.
This gets a bit more hard to predict because Fury is almost always difficult to predict. Fury vs AJ could happen. Fury vs Dubois could happen. In the interim, usyk could wait, possibly call it a day or fight a stay busy.
In any case it pretty much makes sense this is his second to last match.

Beats Fury clean in the rematch and he can do what he wants.

Re: Usyk and two more fights.
He won’t rematch DDD, that does nothing for him.
If usyk wins .i think he will retire…, but if he fights on there isn’t much for him.. Parker, Zhang (if he beat bakole in style, kabayal if he gets another big win, Jai opetia (if he somehow went undisputed cruiser in the next 6 months…,) l, Jalov if he gets a world class win… super long shot Moses if frank and the excelent one decide they love him that much, wilder if he somehow has a comeback fight and gets KO of the year in it…
To me parker would be the only real fight left… (and sure kabayal but he lacks true world class experence for me (I am a big frank hater and a mild mak hater.)

Fury X2 if Fury wins
OR
Fury then Parker, Zhang, Kabayel, Bakole, Opetaia depending on who racks up the best wins from now.

Once he beats Fury, he'll have nothing left to prove IMO.

He has nothing else to really prove now tbh..keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑06 Nov 2024, 06:26 Once he beats Fury, he'll have nothing left to prove IMO.
Just like when he beat AJ the first time.
The 2nd match was gonna be the same result.

I'm convinced that Usyk's gonna stop him this time. Hopefully there are no pull outs.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑06 Nov 2024, 06:51He has nothing else to really prove now tbh..keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑06 Nov 2024, 06:26 Once he beats Fury, he'll have nothing left to prove IMO.

Mike Tyson after he's done crushing Paul.

Re: Usyk and two more fights.
I thought he said he would like to return to a lower weight class? Opetia at a lower catchweight and then Beterbiev at cruiser?

Re: Usyk and two more fights.
He would easily beat Opetia. But droping back down 20-25 pounds to face Beterbiev at his age is not as easy as it seems. Remember what dropping 25 pounds did for RJJ.
I have no interest in seeing it
Re: Usyk and two more fights.
Roy went from Heavyweight straight back down to light heavy though, where Tarver was strong. Beterbiev would be coming up and also isn’t any spring chicken. It would level out the playing field a bit, get two of the best fighters of the modern day in the ring together, and finish off their rivalry from the amateurs.tiny_acres wrote: ↑10 Nov 2024, 16:25He would easily beat Opetia. Perhaps it’s only something I’d personally like to see, as I enjoy watching both fight.

Re: Usyk and two more fights.
There's no real worthwhile fights for him. Parker has been on a bit of a role lately and deserves a title shot, but Usyk will whoop him. Maybe Kabayel and take his 0.

Didn’t Usyk say recently he wants to move back to CW?

Re: Usyk and two more fights.
Usyk vs Beterbiev, at CW seems very interesting. I've watched one of they're amateur showdowns. They made for a great and competitive bout. It's definitely very doable I think. It'd be intriguing on both sides, right straight away with each boxer's training methods. I can see Usyk really going at it with extra roadwork and strict diet(Maybe strict Carnivore ?), and on the flip side, Beterbiev really going at it with the weights(Squats and Deadlifts) and just going full on beastly dietary mode(Eating everything in siight)(High carbs & High Protein). I actually think that Beterbiev would weigh in at the very least, very close to 200. He'd probably be the aggressor in the bout as well. Definitely a very intriguing showdown.Cyclops wrote: ↑14 Nov 2024, 14:07Roy went from Heavyweight straight back down to light heavy though, where Tarver was strong. Re: Usyk and two more fights.
He has not weighed 200 pounds in over 6 years. I think it is a bad move.
That is a long time for an athlete who has grown into a 225 pound frame.
Re: Usyk and two more fights.
If he wins Fury again, why not to fight Kabayel or Bakole?
