Round-by-Round: Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson | Netflix - 15 November 2024
Re: Round-by-Round: Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson | Netflix - 15 November 2024
Honestly that made me sad. First 30 seconds you could see Tyson had no movement or footwork.
Going to be depressed all day now

So glad I didn’t wake up for this.
Didn’t have any intention to anyway.
Sounds like Serrano was robbed again and even Jake Paul took pity on Tyson.

Froch fight would be interesting, maybe Fury rematch he would have a better chance now.hhaehre wrote: ↑16 Nov 2024, 04:45Mine crashed during the Taylor-Serrano fight and I ended up watched the Paul-Tyson fight on a Spanish stream. I absolutely love that Netflix failed so hard, serves them right for putting this on.HomicideHenry wrote: ↑16 Nov 2024, 03:43 As for Tyson-Paul, my netflix basically crashed after round one. I had to go to facebook to find the results.
I think it would have looked even worse had en knocked him out. I don't know where he goes from here. Maybe there's a market for a Froch fight or maybe he decides to actually see how far he can go as a real pro?HomicideHenry wrote: ↑16 Nov 2024, 03:43Going the distance with a man almost 60 years old looks bad no matter what.

The head work is another thing though, she consistently gets away with it, it's so blatant.

Doctor robbed her for sure, surely she was up on the cards, have they been posted anywhere?

Well I'll give Tyson credit for going the distance, he won the 1st and that was it imo, defensively he was ok, I thought he'd get stopped but clearly I was giving Paul too much credit but Paul was gash, didn't look like he was pulling his punches, unloaded like he was going for the KO but just wasn't good enough to get it, Tyson couldn't get off unsurprisingly,. A poor spectacle, Paul's stock surely went down

It might sound a tad callous, but I have no issues with a rapist being punched in the face.
Re: Round-by-Round: Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson | Netflix - 15 November 2024
Tyson's feet in the fight looked like Tyson's feet in the public workout. His hands looked reasonably fast in that, but nobody seemed to be pointing out that he was taking forever to set his feet against a stationary trainer with pads. I'm 52. I know how this works.

Barrios/Ramos was a great fight, had Barrios winning 114-112, thought it might be an early night, he nearly dropped Ramos with a right in the 1st, glove nearly touched, Ramos was down in the 2nd with the same shot, Barrios made good use of the jab and used his reach well to control Ramos from the outside, Ramos turned the fight on its head in the 6th though, wobbled Barrios with a right before another followed by a left knocked him down, hurt as well and it changed the trajectory of the fight, Ramos was pouring it on and landing clean, Barrios busted up, I thought he pulled it out the last couple rounds but draw seems fair enough, I'd watch a rematch

Looks like I wasn’t far wrong, Tyson looked crocked from the get go, I thought he looked unsteady as he walked into the ring, had his knee was strapped up so clearly injured.Controversial wrote: ↑15 Nov 2024, 09:52 I wouldn’t be surprised if Tyson injured himself just training for JP, you can’t train like you used to when you’re in your 50s. I can injure myself just getting out of bed these days lol.

Barrios/Ramos and Taylor/Serrano were both really good fights. It's a shame that a bill like that needs a novelty fight to make a viable TV event.

Anyone want to watch the fights from the card, you'd need to watch the whole thing.. however,
For timestamps:
Goyat v Whindersson – 20 mins
Barrios v Ramos – 1 hour 5 mins
Serrano v Taylor – 2 hours 40 minutes
Paul v Tyson – 4 hours

I refuse to watch any of it from the lofty moral perch I sit on, but the punch stats say there were two rounds where Tyson didn't throw a single punch. I can't think of another fight where one of the combatants didn't throw a single punch is a round.Controversial wrote: ↑16 Nov 2024, 07:21Looks like I wasn’t far wrong, Tyson looked crocked from the get go, I thought he looked unsteady as he walked into the ring, had his knee was strapped up so clearly injured.Controversial wrote: ↑15 Nov 2024, 09:52 I wouldn’t be surprised if Tyson injured himself just training for JP, you can’t train like you used to when you’re in your 50s. Surprised? Tyson is no longer the image of a middle aged man, he is an old man fighting only for money which is fueled by his punch drunk fans. That river is about to dry up.

Re: Round-by-Round: Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson | Netflix - 15 November 2024
Yeah he hardly threw a punch and rarely landed when he did, Tyson always generated power with his legs so he was effectively useless as he could hardly move. Sad to watch and even sadder than he hasn’t ruled out fighting again. That will be a hard sell now though.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑16 Nov 2024, 08:24I refuse to watch any of it from the lofty moral perch I sit on, but the punch stats say there were two rounds where Tyson didn't throw a single punch. That was a bullshit point deduction by that clown referee, but the judges have to follow his instructions.
So it was 95-94.
Too many people bought into the biased commentary
