The Barrios Ramos fight was really, really good. I only watched that one, and was glad I did.

Zepeda exposed a bit there. Farmer almost nicked that
The engine is immense, but the whiskers look a little dodgy and tye tge higher up the levels he goes the more he is likely to get exposed.
I thought he could be more but I saw clear limitations at top level here

Yeah same here (Barrios/Ramos) I didn't watch the female fights because who cares. I tuned back in to the main event and dozed off around about Mike's bedtime.

Here we go, this should also be great.
I feel almost spoilt with this card.

Zepeda's the fourth best in the world in his division, that's gotta be world class.skanksta wrote: ↑16 Nov 2024, 17:08C'mon Mags as if you don't know !
Some deep deep talent pool @ LW and Zep levelled out a bit there didn't he ?
Zep will give anyone a good fight, but he's miles behind the next gen in terms of tekkers and you know it.
Re: Round-by-Round: Gilberto Ramirez vs. Chris Billam-Smith - 16 November 2024
Oh yeah, he's solid, but Shak, Mason, Keyshawn, Loma, Tank (?).keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑16 Nov 2024, 17:14Zepeda's the fourth best in the world in his division, that's gotta be world class.
If you're a strongman who "can be outboxed" like Zep - that lot are a total nightmare...

Ramirez is coming forward but Barboza is throwing nice sharp shots.

I'm 3-1 Joe RAM.

Not sure I agree with the commentary. I think Barboza's boxing quite well here. Every time Ramirez gets inside, he's got something waiting for him.

Barboza nicking this at the minute I’d say, not a classic by any means but he’s been the more accurate off the back foot.

That's 'ifs', I'm talking right now. Fourth in the world is world class.skanksta wrote: ↑16 Nov 2024, 17:28Oh yeah, he's solid, but Shak, Mason, Keyshawn, Loma, Tank (?).keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑16 Nov 2024, 17:14Zepeda's the fourth best in the world in his division, that's gotta be world class.

The Sky fans card reckons it's 4-1-1 Barb !?
I'm kinda the opposite - not that much is happening or it's easy to score.

Just tuning in on Sky.

I don't think Ramirez is doing anything apart from lumbering forward. Barboza is ahead for me. There are quick transitions from defence to attack.
Re: Round-by-Round: Gilberto Ramirez vs. Chris Billam-Smith - 16 November 2024
It's a tough fight to score 'cos it's sho1te...
Ram is just lumbering forward, but Barb is just flicking out a counter once a minute.
I've no idea who is winning ?

Disappointing fight, this..Ramirez looks seriously off the pace, can’t close the distance and can’t get off for $hit. Barboza just potshotting and looking to pinch it, and probably will.

Snoozefest, this one.
Re: Round-by-Round: Gilberto Ramirez vs. Chris Billam-Smith - 16 November 2024
I think Ram won it 6-4 but both looked crap and did almost nothing - "at least Ram was coming forward and being busy"
They'll give it to who they want....
Re: Round-by-Round: Gilberto Ramirez vs. Chris Billam-Smith - 16 November 2024
No chance Ramirez won that fight. Didn't land a clean shot all night. Timing is way off. Barboza 8-2/7-3 for me.

Underwhelming fight, but I still enjoyed it. Nice palate cleanser for the main event.
Re: Round-by-Round: Gilberto Ramirez vs. Chris Billam-Smith - 16 November 2024
By no means a classic but in 30 years of boxing I've seen way, way worse fights than that.
