Round-by-Round: Gilberto Ramirez vs. Chris Billam-Smith - 16 November 2024
Re: Round-by-Round: Gilberto Ramirez vs. Chris Billam-Smith - 16 November 2024
Another tough round for CBS but at least Zurdo is showing signs of fatigue now, not as sharp.

Getting painful in there, CBS needs to pull out a big shot

Not sure that cut will last another 5 rounds.

Definitely. He is outclassing him quite comfortably to be honest, hoping for a big moment for CBS.jameswilson wrote: ↑16 Nov 2024, 18:54 Ramirez’s feet so much quicker. His feet are carrying him almost behind CBS before CBs can even half turn around.

Think I mentioned the body shots earlier. Don’t think it’s confirmation bias on my end trying to look clever but the replay showed a body shot land and CBs clearly winded and moves his arms and hands to cover his body. Think these are adding up.

It’s tough to see how he can turn the tide. He’s landed his best shots on Ramirez & hasn’t managed to hurt him

its not even that ram's feet are quick, it's just he's so much smarter with his movement and punches. knows what to do and the right time. billam smith strogn and game as ever, but just bumbling at him and swinging mindlessly
Re: Round-by-Round: Gilberto Ramirez vs. Chris Billam-Smith - 16 November 2024
CBS definitely throwing some decent shots, not at desperation stage yet. But he if he can't rock Zurdo he's not going to turn this tide.
Re: Round-by-Round: Gilberto Ramirez vs. Chris Billam-Smith - 16 November 2024
CBS balance looks terrible, I don't mean the foot tangling with a southpaw. He seems to be flat footed, slow and unable to pivot. I don't remember him ever fighting this bad. Mind you Ramirez is very very good

Cannot question CBS's heart. Hard man.

Great effort here from CBS, well behind, but still having some good moments.

Zurdos timing is very very good, albeit CBS is lacking in head movement. Boxing nicely Ramirez.

Can he snatch victory from the jaws of defeat
Again?
Again?
Re: Round-by-Round: Gilberto Ramirez vs. Chris Billam-Smith - 16 November 2024
Has anyone noticed Smith is only hitting slaps with his right hand, he isn't really punching with it?

He hasn’t sat down on his right hand all fight, not sure whether that’s down to Zurdos movement or something else, but I did notice that.
He’s one tough man Chris like, no quit in there.

CBS wins our hearts, but Zurdo just too a bit too good all round...

Yeah a tough watch towards the end.
Career ending/shortening fight for both.
Wonderful stuff, but a near shoutout.

Great effort from CBS right up to the last second of the fight. Can't ask more than that.
On top of the boxing ability, unfortunately Zurdo is tough as nails with a very good engine.

Did think Zurdo UD before the fight but have to say after 3 or 4 rounds I was wondering how the hell CBS is gonna survive this.
