Dillian Whyte vs. Ebenezer Tetteh official for December 15 on DAZN

Former heavyweight title challenger Dillian Whyte will wrap up 2024 with his second fight of the year, taking on Ebenezer Tetteh on December 15 on DAZN. The fight was announced during Saturday’s DAZN broadcast headlined by Chris Billam-Smith vs. Gilberto Ramirez.

Whyte vs. Tetteh will take place in Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory located at the southern tip of Spain.

Whyte last fought in March, when he stopped Christian Hammer after three rounds. That victory brought the 36-year-old Londoner to 30-3 (20 KOs).

Whyte’s first defeat came in 2015, when he lost via seventh-round technical knockout to Anthony Joshua. He then scored 11 straight victories, including good wins over the likes of Robert Helenius in 2017, Joseph Parker in 2018 and Oscar Rivas in 2019. That winning streak came to an end in August 2020 after a highlight-reel knockout at the hands of Alexander Povetkin.

Whyte defeated Povetkin in their immediate rematch, however, putting him away in four rounds in March 2021. The victory landed Whyte a shot at Tyson Fury in April 2022 for the WBC heavyweight title. Alas, Fury finished Whyte in six rounds. Whyte returned in November 2022 with a majority decision over Jermaine Franklin Jnr and then spent nearly 16 months away before taking on Hammer.

Tetteh, a 36-year-old from Accra, Ghana, is 23-1 (20 KOs). He started his career as a light heavyweight and then moved up on the scales, competing briefly at cruiserweight before moving up to heavyweight.

Tetteh lost in his sole step up, when he faced Daniel Dubois in September 2019 and was dispatched in 130 seconds. Tetteh has won four in a row since then, most recently taking a fifth-round TKO in April over the 5-1 Ayaovi Agbonson.

 After last night's freakshow you'd think all matchmakers would be put on notice to not stage obvious mismatches. This sport I love that I hate can be absolutely pitiful sometimes.

If you don't know who Tetteh is, you weren't paying enough attention to Dubois over the past few years. Terrible opponent though. Whyte better have someone better lined up after...

Awful fight.

After whyte`s appearance in Ireland I assumed that there might be a matchup with thomas carty down the line?

I wouldn't mind that just for fun but this fight with tetteh seems pants.

Just looked at the scheduled bill now....seems Carty is also on the card.

Plus Mike Perez, he recently received a ranking at heavyweight despite not fighting at heavyweight for a number of years now and is way passed his best.

This bill is very odd

I was there at Royal Albert Hall. fight was over very quickly from what I remember. Terrible opponent - if he'd picked someone alive and in with a chance, i'd have watched for sure but definitely not this. Must be some strange stuff going on in the background for this to be born.

No, I didn't see that one. It's hard enough (expensive) to follow the main fights these days, let alone all the early ones.

I doubt he’ll get licensed again in this country due to multiple positive tests. He’s probably hoping for a Saudi pay day after these tune ups.
