Opponent needs to be older, smaller, and have no power or some power but be a slugger.

You're most likely bang on with this.
Bunny just did an interview and when asked whether they'd make this fight his response was "we'll see what happens". To me that basically him saying no.

Still I'd be happy with the Bentley fight for now.

They have delayed purse bids.

Looks like they might just be negotiating a deal.

Frank W: ‘Hamzah Sheeraz will fight for a world title in February’

“His next fight will be for the world title,” Warren told Boxing Scene. “When we announce it, you will [get a name]. He will be fighting in February for a world title.

“I hope Daniel Dubois will be on that show,” he said. “The February show is going to be something special. Riyadh Season on the 21st of December is exceptional and we are kicking off next year with something that’s going to be phenomenal.

Sheeraz Hamzah vacates his European middleweight title

Hamzah Sheeraz has vacated his European middleweight title in anticipation of fighting for a version of the world title on February 22.

The 25 year old stopped Tyler Denny on the undercard of Daniel Dubois-Anthony Joshua in September, and is on course to fight on one of the IBF heavyweight champion’s undercards again, when Dubois makes his second title defence.

Sheeraz is the number-one contender to the WBO and WBC 160lbs titles respectively held by Janibek Alimkhanuly and Carlos Adames. Alimkhanuly is regarded as the division’s finest fighter, and Sheeraz its most promising; Sheeraz’s promoter allegedly of Queensberry also revealed that he expects the vacant European title to be fought for by Denzel Bentley and Brad Pauls at Wembley Arena on December 7.

“Purse bids were between Denzel and Hamzah,” the promoter told BS. “That’s not happening. What’s happening now is this fight’s on, and we’ll ask Brad to go forwards. They’ll do it.

“Hamzah will fight for the world title next year. He’s number one in two organisations, and we’re working on it at the moment.

“It’ll be next week [when we have news]. We’ll see what happens [regarding a location]. Early next year.

“He’s had a brilliant year. He’ll be fighting for a world title.

“There’s a lot for [Bentley and Pauls] to aim for. Hamzah vacated the European title – Brad was the mandatory for that so we’re now applying for that to be on the line.”

Dubois had been expected to fight Joshua again, but Warren echoed Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn in insisting that that is no longer the plan.

“That ain’t gonna happen,” he said. “We’re looking for an opponent. We’re talking, and again, that, within the next seven-to-10 days, will be over the line. Once the contracts are signed we’ll make an announcement. There’s four fighters in the frame at the moment.

“I’d fancy [Dubois] to do the same thing next time [to Joshua] and maybe that’s how [Joshua] is. [Oleksandr Usyk and Andy Ruiz, who Joshua also had rematches with] didn’t do to him what he did. We’ll see in his next fight.”

Warren was then asked if he believed Joshua was resisting fighting Dubois again to preserve hopes of eventually fighting Tyson Fury, whose rematch with Oleksandr Usyk for the WBC, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles is on December 21, and he responded: “If Tyson wins he’s not going to be able to fight [Joshua] unless he vacates all the belts, because none of the organisations will let a guy fight for a world title, coming off that last fight.

“I think people will buy it [regardless of Joshua losing to Dubois]. But it won’t happen unless he gets a win.”

Ducking coward. What a bitch made pussy move. Clearly didn't have the confidence that they could beat Alimkhanuly.

You'd think if they were deep down confident that they would win - going for two world titles, the number 1 in the division, and more money would be a no brainer.

I could tell they never wanted that Janibek smoke. Massive duck.

Why pay wbo sanction fees for their regional belts and ranking when there’s no intention to fight the champion..

That's a shame, I gave him a decent chance against Janibek. I can't see Haymon letting Carlos Adames or Lara fight a non PBC guy unless they absolutely have to.

Maybe. I can see Eubank-Benn getting made soon, it feels like that.

Janibek is a bad style for Hamzah but this is where we are in boxing today where a fighter turns down a chance to fight the number 1 in a division because it's a bad style matchup. In fairness, it happened with Rigondeaux too.

He already ducked Alimkhanuly 18 months ago, and turned down a Canelo fight . Now as mandatory challenger he's ducked Alimkhanuly again.

He's been a pro 7 years already, if he isn't ready now to step up he never will be. It's pathetic.

adames isnt a bad fight, but turning down a fight with a higher regarded unified champ for the second time aint a great look. makes them look not confident. so much for the narrative of him just being a youngin the first time but defo gonna take it this time.

cherry pick for sure if thats the case. i do rate hammy and would give him a good shot too

Let’s see.

He’s likely gonna be in that Feb card.

CEJ-Benn is likely to headline after this date.

I've got a feeling that Turki is going to try and unify as many divisions as possible and install the winners as The Ring Champion.

Clearly he's fighting Carlos Adames for the WBC on the February card which looks to be a very big show. Assuming he wins they can then look to do a unification with Janibek in the summer, which by then it would be a very big fight.

I don't see the issue personally.

I agree, but it's still a swerve.
