Dubois has offered Jake Paul a shot at his title. A good move by Dubois

They all want his money, they hear 20 million dollars and they hear the cash register ring in their little heads.

Dubois would knock Paul and that daft brother of his out in a round - of course. :bag:

Beterbiev and Dubois have offered him a fight. He already turned down Briedis previously.

He will never take a fight against those guys where he doesn't have a huge skill, weight or age advantage. It will be Canelo, McGregor or nobody of note in the boxing world.

If he was smart he'd try and get a vacant Bridger weight match against the worst possible opponent. Alternatively perhaps to solidify his credentials try and get a national belt against the worst possible opponent. They'd probably still be too much for him but he's become a laughing stock among most.

Dubois is young enough to recognize being the next superstar heavyweight is getting involved in things outside of the sport.

When Mike Tyson was coming up he parlayed his win streak into Nintendo, late night talk shows, and later WWF/WWE. What's in today is social media and Jake Paul, for better or for worse, is the figurehead of that.

So to be the next Tyson, so to speak, Dubois is attempting to increase his outreach with the general public. Boxing is such a niche sport, but if you can get that casual fan base to grow around you then you're going to be the "it guy" in the business.

It'd be a far, far, far greater mismatch than when Larry Holmes fought Marvis Frazier (who was unranked) and it'd be over inside the first round, but really it's a win-win for both Dubois and Paul.

Dubois becomes the hero defeating the biggest heel in boxing today and Paul can be like, "It's an honor getting knocked out by the heavyweight champion of the world. Nobody ever thought I'd get here," and he can do the baby face turn saying he wants to do things the right way and calls out Tommy Fury for a rematch, etc.

Personally I don't think it should happen and most likely will not happen. I tend to think Paul is just laughing up all the attention he's getting off the Tyson farce and he'll get Conor McGregor or someone else like that. Dubois calling out Paul is still a good for business though because he's putting his name out there.

Jesus Christ Almighty God bless you all

Apparently Paul has accepted the challenge, DDD probably the favourite in this one, 60/40.

I would fear for Pauls life if he faces Dubois

Surely people have realised by now that these fights are rigged DDD will just take it easy and make sure it goes the distance.

Anyone who believes DDD will spark him is a sap

If I was DD I would inform JP that I was willing to accept a dive for 50m and walk off into the sunset buying my own private island and have a different chick sit on my squidgy every night

Nah I'm not sure DD will know how to follow the script, he might just put him on the moon.

Jake Paul is ranked #128 at heavyweight by BoxRec, which is one place higher than Adam Kownacki, so the IBF will probably pop him in the top 15 if needed.

Jake Paul has played a blinder. He's making millions without fighting anywhere beyond area level and has world title holders calling him out.

It's clear he doesn't care about achieving anything of note in boxing and why not. Pretend to be interested in fighting real fights then just carry on making millions fighting low level boxers, undersized retired MMA fighters with little boxing experience or fellow YouTubers.

For me he isn't worth discussing on a boxing forum as what he's doing is barely boxing. But boxing is a mugs game where genuine champions often end up broke with poor health. Fair play to him for making millions out of it and also creating some opportunities for real boxers to get a piece of the pie too.

I doubt it. He'll want to get his payday, his bonuses and not alienate the YouTubers so he can have a match against the other Paul brother at some point.

It'll basically be a sparring contest promoted as a world title fight.

Boxing is embarassing now.

Jake Paul, the self proclaimed face of boxing has, having initially said yes, now turned down a shot at Dubois' IBF World Heavyweight title on the grounds that he wants to " continue to disrupt and test the limits of possibilities"

In other words, he had his bluff called.

As if the IBF would allow Jake fckn Paul to challenge for their title, the WBA and WBC would but IBF no chance

Course he wasn't going to fight Dubois, it would last a round and he isn't a heavyweight anyway.

It was a cynical attempt at a cash/clout grab from Dubois - he saw the Tyson 'fight' and heard 'kerching' and wanted some of the clowns money, the only problem is, the clown decides who gets his money - it won't be any active professional who is world class.

Doubt it. Good intervention in a red hot international boxing news story. No harm in DDD riding some of those waves, even though zero chance of Jake Paul accepting.

Warrens idea, clearly, he promoted Freddie Flintoff ffs, none of these promoters care about the sport, they want gimmicks to make money , like every promoter in history
