Brandon Adams vs Andreas Katzourakis

Post by handsofstone »

This Friday on DAZN, Adams in yet another tournament, fought in Boxcino and won Contender, this time it's the Overtime final, been watching this , haven't thought much of Katzourakis, Adams should be a level above

Katzourakis eeks out a SD, 97-93 and 96-94 while the other judge had it 97-93 Adams (snap) really good close competitive fight fought up close from start to finish, there was barely a moment when both weren't on each other's chest throwing, hard to score I've no qualms with Katzourakis getting it, it was nip/tuck the whole fight, he strayed low a good few times and was lucky not to lose a point, the stats favored Adams with punches thrown and landed not that means much in a close fight like this but I did think Adams won most of the second half with his cleaner work, good fight though all the same

Did you watch the Maliek Montgomery fight? He was an excellent amateur.

I think so, although it's not on BoxRec. I won't watch it until Sunday, but I think he could go far, he just needs to stay active.

something must be up with montgomery. top am, always looked pretty good in the pros, yet bounces around non stop. did the whole knocking over cans in mexico thing. then was on espn briefly, then pbc show briefly, then dazn. appearances here and there with various diff promoters and usually doesnt last long on any particular platform, despite winning comfortably.

how has a guy with his am background and pro record not been able to find a more steady home? difficult to work with or somthing?

He looked great of Friday, stays in the pocket, throws a shit-ton of punches and loves a scrap. Eddie should sign and fast track him.

I had Adams winning, 97-93. 96-94 I could see also. However, I can't agree with Katzourakis winning the fight.

Pressure isn't enough if you're getting out landed by harder cleaner shots.
