This Noakes is an absolute quality operator.
Corner should have pulled Walsh rounds ago , too brave for his own good .

119-109 Noakes, boxed well, never looked flustered, fought pretty measured, hurt Walsh, landed hard clean shots, used the jab, he did go to sleep in a couple rounds but would move back up through the gears, Walsh still a tough SOB, was always good at slipping and riding punches but showed a good chin and had to grit it out to go the distance, nose broke early, good 12 rounds in the bank for Noakes

Good post. One thing that does annoy me is all of this hype of "great discipline", "mature performance" talk. It wasn't on par with Eubank vs Marcus Morrison but it was a case of Noakes staying in first gear and not doing much else. Walsh knew he was beat from early on and it turned into a survival job. Noakes wasn't being offensive unless Walsh was throwing and Walsh was throwing less and less as he went into survival mode. It's easy to go the distance at an easy pace where you are having things your own way but it doesn't prepare you for a proper 12 rounds at a high level at all. I just don't like to see fighters carrying opponents when it looks like they could get them out of there with a sustained attack.

At this pace Denzel will win every round. Brad's going to need to land something big.
Re: Brad Pauls vs. Denzel Bentley | TNT Sports - 7 December 2024
Brad got great support and it’s seems to be keeping him in the fight.., but Denzel surely won the rounds..
