Teremoana Jr

Post by forcefraser »

Fast Car bigging up this guy as the next coming.

Never seen him box, but saw he was beaten twice by jalolov in the ams, once by stoppage. Any thoughts on him as a pro prospect?

been wrecking guys in the ams, impressive power for sure. ko'd a ukrainian in 1 at the olympics. very rare to see so many stoppages at that level these days. the 2nd jalolov fight was close and the first was a ridiculous amateur stoppage where he wasnt hurt at all (though was being outboxed)

barring a walkover no one has beat jalolov in the ams in like 7 years anyway

he should be a fun one for sure

Good summary. Agree with everything. Will hopefully be a fun addition to the heavyweight scene.

ya i am hyped for his pro run. he improved a lot during his return to the ams and went from losing to guys to scoring first round kos over them (see rematches vs dmytro and texeira). from being handily outboxed by jalolov to pushing him really close in the olympics.

whatever his potential, and i think it's good, he will be fun to watch. we at least have another big banger on the scene, nice scoop by eddie

You think he'll relocate to the UK or they'll run him from Oz?

I think they’ll have him box all over. Matchroom seem to be wanting to do shows in Australia though now so I’m sure he’ll fight twice there this year. Will just be getting him active and building up the hype.

I think he’s mustard, like. Genuine power and a super-heavy build.

There’s a great sequence in a bout from early this year where lands a hook, is immediately countered with a southpaw hook and just throws another hook and stops the guy so I guess he’s got a solid chin, too.

Originally from the Cook Islands, too, so probably already their best ever fighter?

Looking forward to this his career. Just gutted he couldn’t get on a crazy Matchroom bill with Jai, Skye and Paro all defending titles now that Liam’s lost.

Agreed. Seems like a good guy too. Cook Islands are tiny aren’t they?

Be great if they can get him on that gold coast card in January after Monaco.. . Probably be over stacked for a wensday night gold coast convention centre card having opetia, huni and terri jr../ but it would be cool.

I think these Aus guys really need to embrace the idea of getting some decent but not high level Aus work between there opportunity’s at a real level.

Like what huni is currently doing, was nowhere near active enough, got a big Saudi fight, obviously wants another but is fighting a few easier fights in Aus while he waits. Improves his record, gets him some KOs, keeps him busy, and helps keep his brand up in Aus.

It’s a real shame how rare top grade Aus cards are . There’s enough entertaining guys to make some fun cards.. Even if some rivals had to get together to make it happen… opeitia, huni, kambo, Paro, jarvis, Dempsey ,the tszyus, Teri jr, skye, Goodal, vositui, malloneys, Goodman, zerafa, Wallace, Murdoch.. obviously you won’t get em all, but a lot of fun to be had. Add in a few kiwis and your set…

this guy is a natural unit 6'6 270 without being overweight, and is fast for his size with power. has a full arsenal throwing every type of punch too. double left hooks. right hands down the middle or around the guard. body shots, jabs. looks like an offensive juggernaut.

he improved massively for the last year and a half as well, and could still be on that trajectory as a pro.

opponent today crumbled quickly, will need to book some durable opponents to get rounds in

unless there is a glass chin, mental defect, or empty gas tank waiting to be revealed - and hell maybe there is - anyone who isnt world glass or just near it is gonna have a hard time getting past him.

even if he has some hidden fatal flaw, that would just make him a big punching vulnerable fighter, which is still fun as hell. i am really excited for his career

Another win this morning and I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Skye Nicholson getting beat.
