Re: Robbed
You're not the only one.
Unfortunately this is a business first and because of the power of money, any sporting relevance is always secondary.
It would be sad to see Ryhadh Season morph into a version of Las Vegas but the signs are not good.
The last minute change of judge for the Fury / Usyk match suggests that all is not well behind the scenes.
"Barbosa’s involvement was widely viewed as an obvious conflict of interests because ESPN has an exclusive content agreement with Bob Arum’s Top Rank Inc., Fury’s co-promoter along with allegedly’s Queensberry Promotions."
"Barbosa’s appointment attracted unwanted attention this week, however, because he is a senior vice president for Disney Latin America and a broadcaster for ESPN KnockOut, one of the company’s Spanish-language channels. Disney is the parent company of ESPN."

Re: Robbed
clearly allen shouldve gotten the decision.
you can give fisher the first 4, and if youre very generous maybe the 10th (i still gave it to allen). that's 5 rounds each, and with the kd allen shouldve won 95-94 at minimum. i had it 96-93
to me it qualifies as a robbery because pretty much all the rounds were clear either way, little room to argue swing rounds

Blatant robbery. Unfortuanately Fisher is a money maker (despite being shit) so gets the nod.

Re: Robbed
Fischer has next to no skills. He's just trying to wrestle the other guy out and gets tired by doing so. I don't think he will stay as a money maker for very long. Especially with guys like moses itauma coming.tigermoth87 wrote: ↑22 Dec 2024, 05:42 Blatant robbery. Unfortuanately Fisher is a money maker (despite being shit) so gets the nod.

Re: Robbed
Yeah it was a robbery but I always find it a bit over the top when said about guys like Fisher or Wilder that they have zero or next to no skills. I mean they're not the best boxers in the world but they fight and they win fights. Even I'm not completely skilless but I don't think I could manage to beat Fisher ![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Re: Robbed
When we say no skill we don't mean they can't fight. We're just saying they're very unidimensional fighters.JackSprocket wrote: ↑22 Dec 2024, 09:34 Yeah it was a robbery but I always find it a bit over the top when said about guys like Fisher or Wilder that they have zero or next to no skills. Re: Robbed
Let's say they have primitive fighting skills but no modern boxing skills. I mean after the Ko'd the fight transformed into a wrestling match with 2 overweight tired giants who struggled staying up and hardly landed anything clean. Compare that to the lower weight fights that preceded or the heavyweight championship fight that followed and you can easily see that they had nothing to do at such a high level.JackSprocket wrote: ↑22 Dec 2024, 10:07 Yeah I understand, the expression zero skills just makes me cringe a bit every time
Re: Robbed
Any word on them running it back?
Fisher loses a lot of credibility if he doesn't.

It was messy, no sign of a Lionel in there.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑26 Dec 2024, 05:19lost rounds 1-4, won rounds 5-9 and scored a kd. at worst for allen he should have won 95-94, 96-93 if you give him the 10th
Re: Robbed
Agreed. Dave deserved better than that horsesh*t
