Couldn't outmuscle Ngannou who was stronger than him. Uysk did not have many issues with his strength, either time.

AJ is more robotic but very physically strong and the much bigger puncher. That flicker style might have some success but feel he will get cracked (Fury), more than once.

Yeah it knocks the loser down a good bit historically, and raises the other up a good bit higher. If Fury loses it would also kinda lower Wilder's standing in the eyes of people by default. That's why you always gotta way until all these dudes retire, and are done before you can accurately see the whole picture of their career.

I think it would affect Fury more. AJ acts strangely immediately after a loss but seems to settle down. Fury could go back into a spiral.

Doubt either fighter wants it or needs it, but then Hearns needs the payday, especially if the Benn fight goes bad

Both have retirement money, if they are splitting a couple of hundred million it's one thing, but will they go for 20 million each?

I think AJ wants it, I'm not sure he feels like he has much to fear from Fury and he's been stopped twice now anyway, his legacy and stock is low, Fury is a route back to the fame/status he craves.

For Fury though, I'm not sure it's a particularly good carrot. His stock is still high, he's only ever lost to Usyk via closeish decisions. Losing to AJ - particularly by KO, would be devastating for him in everyway, from legacy to his mental health. But what would be the upside? There's no belts for him, and Dubois just battered him. Purse aside, it's probably fairly low reward but very high risk.

Imo Fury will be out the ring until next summer, maybe put on weight then take a 'tune-up' or comeback fight against some tomato can.

exactly - Fury has more to lose, and could. genuinely intrigued as to where he goes from here, seeing as the only guy who's ever beaten him has just beaten him again and so that door seems closed now. the winner of DDD-Parker will likely want to face Usyk. Everyone else seems a bit below Fury, but I guess that's not stopped him taking easy fights in the past.

current Fury won't want any of this fight and will probably negotiate in a way to avoid it but lay blame at AJ's door

I read somewhere that the purse for Usyk - fury 2 was £140 mill split 60 / 40 towards the champ .
So add that to Fury`s existing bank balance and he probably wont be hungry to fight Joshua for 20 / 30 mill or whatever they offer .
AJ probably would take the fight for this kind of money as a win would do his status the world of good .

I expect a lot of ambiguity and mixed messages from the fury camp for the next few months as he weighs his options and tries to remain relevant .

Maybe a late summer stadium fight .......

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua could have ‘comebacks’ before they meet

Tyson Fury kept us all on our toes when at first he said on Wednesday that he was happily retired and could only maybe be tempted out of retirement for a third fight with Oleksandr Usyk.

A few hours later, however, that all changed.

Fury revealed that he is seriously considering offers to return, naming Anthony Joshua and Usyk as two potential opponents. He then also claimed this morning that a return was confirmed for April 18 next year at Wembley Stadium against Usyk.

Boxing Scene later discovered that there have been no talks and that the venue is not available.

Eddie Hearn, the longtime promoter of Anthony Joshua, was asked for his take on the whole situation.

“I mean, you never know. You never know what he's thinking or what he's really going to do,” Hearn told BS. “I think it's pretty obvious that he was always going to come back, but he was never going to come out and say, ‘Yeah, I want to fight Anthony Joshua’. He's got to do something.

“But I think the good thing about him talking about the Usyk [trilogy] is you can see the reaction online. And with all due respect, no one's really interested, all they want is the AJ fight. So we're just going to do our thing. He'll do his thing. And we'll see where we get to.”

Hearn was then asked if there had been any discussions for Fury to face Joshua. The longtime head of Matchroom Boxing revealed that he recently had a phone call with Riyadh Season boss Turki Alalshikh discussing the fight.

“Yeah, I spoke to him [Wednesday] night,” Hearn said. “They want them both to have, say, a comeback fight, a fight. And then, in my opinion, Turki [Alalshikh]'s going to move straight forward and make AJ-Fury.”

zero interest in another Usyk-Fury fight, but the AJ-Fury fight I'd definitely go watch at the pub with probably 3/4 of the population of this country
