Lennox Lewis (Vitali fight) vs Andy Ruiz Jr (AJ 1)

Post by EdwardRevolver1993 »

Some parallels between Lewis-Vitali and AJ-Ruiz I.
Could Lewis from the Vitali fight (who weighed 256lbs) suffer AJ's fate against Andy Ruiz Jr. from the 1st AJ fight (who, like Vitali from the LL fight, would be a motivated late replacement)?

Fight takes place at Staples Center, where Lewis fought Vitali and which would also be Andy Ruiz' home environment.

Lewis would win Ruiz comfortably.

I cannot see Ruiz winning, here. He has quick hands and throws in combos, but would be eating that left jab all night.

Lenox was also very powerful and that right would come crashing over, again and again, busting Ruiz up and making him more reluctant, as the fight wore on. He would dictate so doubt he gases as badly as he did in the Vitali fight.

Lewis was a far, far superior boxer to AJ and would not make similar mistakes.

Lewis in a one sided beat down UD or, probably a late round stoppage, as Ruiz is tough.

You can never say never, but just don't see Lewis losing this.

Lewis would put him in his shell with some big shots on his way a midround corner pull out.

Lewis wins a UD I think. In top form he stops Andy Ruiz, but he wasn't in top form for the Vitali fight. He had been training for Kirk Johnson up until 2 weeks before that bout, and he looked like he was in Kirk Johnson kinda shape not Vitali Klitschko kinda shape.

Of course at the time Vitali wasn't thought of particularly highly.
