RJJ, that won the WBA HW belt from Ruiz in 2003
Vs
Valuev, who was already a WBA-ranked challenger at the time and will take the same belt from the same Ruiz couple years later.
Do you see Jones being able to pull it off, if he fights a boring fight?

Jones would make a fool of Valuev. The giant yeti would look like a total dumbass, walking around the ring and taking shots to his bucket-like head and flabby belly.
Jones 120-108 X3.
Or 116-112, 115-113 and 114-114 in Germany.

I can very much see it happening. Jones might pull off Haye strategy. But at the same time, don't you think the size disparity might be too much in this instance?
In Jones's case, he might have trouble reaching that bucket-like head (as you put it). Though, the body will be there for Roy.
Also, the aforementioned Haye (who was bigger than Roy) had to take a very cautious approach in decisioning Valuev. That approach kinda made the fight look relatively competitive.
I wonder, whether Jones somehow could've been more effective than Haye?

Haye objectively had almost no troubles with Valuev and deserved a wider score. Barely Roy's lack of size would make a significantly different picture. Valuev simply couldn't box, move, dodge punches, etc. He just walked, threw jab, sometimes right hand, ate shots, blocked some of them. He didn't even have a proper punch, that was more of pawing.EdwardRevolver1993 wrote: ↑12 Jan 2025, 13:40I can very much see it happening. Jones might pull off Haye strategy. I think Roy could've taken a decision over Valuev.
