Fury retires........yawn

Post by rhino222 »

Anyone else fed up with those Fury bollocks. I'm retired unless I get a 500 mil purse etc?

Dya know what Fury

Fekkin retire then. You have lost lots of your fans due to your thuggish father, your own foul language and your lack of graciousness in defeat to a superior boxer.

No one shouted louder than me than when you won the Wilder 2 fight. But now I've had enough of the bullshit. Just retire and feck off, you're not the all time great you think you are.

You forgot drug cheat and liar, belt hostage taker, rematch bottler, time waster, big mouth, and Chisora 3.

I doubt it's sincere, but if it is. He's had a very good career.

I'd bet heavily though that we will see him fight before the year is out.

If it is the end, the fact he never faced AJ will be his Witter albatross

Sort of. AJ didn’t fight Wilder either.

That doesn't make it less of a problem for Fury's legacy. It can be a problem for both of theirs. Fury pulling out of their contracted fight then retiring while Joshua chases the fight in 2025 won't age well if Fury does retire though.

He won't retire, he'll want to go out on a win to restore some credibility after losing to a middleweight, he should beat AJ pretty easily and he will earn a fortune for it too. He ain't going anywhere

He only 'retires' so UKAD cannot turn up when he is off his nut with Isaac Lowe.

Please fight AJ at Wembley.

I have to come over to the UK this year so I'd make sure it coincided with that.

In 25 years who will be remembered as better AJ or Fury?

Kilt. Wilder 3 times. Chisora 3 times. Whyte. Double losses to usyk.

Vs

Klit, Whyte, Parker, Ruiz, pov, pulev, Martin (included cause he is a world champ not cause he is good), double losses to usyk. And a few more losses…

Neither are particularly inspiring

If DDD beats Parker his run recent run is arguably better than any run AJ or Fury have had.

Dubois' record that would already be a better run than Joshua and Fury's career?
- Hrgovic (quite untested. Could have a lucky win over Zhang and nothing else to show for his career)
- Joshua (is this a better win that Klitschko without knowing whether Joshua is absolutely shot?)
- Parker (who Joshua, and several others, has beaten)
- Miller (untested former drug cheat with a padded record now off the juice)
- Loss to Usyk
- Nobody else worth mentioning

Joshua beat Klitschko, Takam, Parker and Povetkin in a row. That's a better run.

I agree that this is the risk for him. Can't see him wanting work as a pundit, or getting it, as the only person he has expertise in talking about is himself, and his public persona has never been about being measured or reflective. The best thing for Fury would be a chilled-out retirement of the kind that Lennox Lewis has managed - Lennox has always seemed very comfortable with himself and what he achieved, and clearly has far too much nous ever to come back.

In the video he posted he said "I want finish with this.. at least Dick Turpin wore a mask"....

So, is he saying he was robbed, and as a result of his feelings of being robbed, he's retiring (again)?

Be glad to see the back of this guy but let's be honest it's unlikely he'll actually retire.

Fury's his own worst enemy ! Stop disputing the loss to such a ridiculous degree....he struggles when his popularity takes a knock and it will definitely go southwards if he carries on spouting nonsense.

16 year pro. It's a long shift.

The only think he needs to decide is if the bonanza he'll receive for fighting AJ is worth the risk of the loss. Depends on his real mindset, the mindset only he knows.

My personal opinion is he's not done yet but we'll see.
