Spencer Brown is more prominent than those two, especially Hearn.

So do you think he could shut them out or are they still needed?

I think it's heading that way. They own a share in DAZN as well I think.

Until these players contracts are up, the promoters will be needed at some capacity.

That's a question to put to eubank.

Just why are 'scumbags' so crucial and welcome bed fellows for someone as holy as his exigency ?

He's a money man, not a builder of fighters. And he doesn't control the money, just gets dished out some while he is in favor with his paymasters.

Not quite. He also has extreme personal wealth. Not everything he’s done so far has been done using PIF money. The Ring purchase for example was done with ‘his own’ money. There will also be shows this year that he’ll finance personally rather than using PIF money.

I agree though he’s not a builder of fighters. The shows are helped by having a mouthpiece which Eddie and Frank have done well, and obviously many top level fighters are tied down to promoters.

saudi couldnt do what they are doing without eddie & frank plus all the other people involved .
That is likeley to change in time but not for a few years or maybe they just think its working well and as they have so much $$$ dont care about saving a few million by trying to cut out any promoters.

Being a promoter, and all the jobs that fall underneath that if you have staff, must be a lot of hassle. You'd pay someone just to do the leg work if you were Turki, so you may as well pay the best.

I very much doubt it, though we might see price drops across the board for PPV in the short term.

Is Hearns just a sideshow now? Turki obviously puts Fwank above him and also Spencer.

Eddie hanging on and desperate? Ge doesn't have that same aggression or ambition that drove him a decade ago.

Hearts needs an enemy. He can't play in a team and if he is forced to then he needs to be the star player or he won't wanna play.

He'll jack it in soon if Turki stays in charge

I think Eddie has made a mistake by not investing in a new crop of heavyweights.
Fwank hands down has the best HW stable out of the two. Eddie's great hope AJ is on the out, and no matter how much Eddie pretends Uysk is his guy, he (like Canelo)just isn't.

Yeah. Eddie dropped a bollock with the heavyweights. Turki clearly loves them and they tend to get more interest from fans too.

I think Frank played it very well with the heavies. Many signed to him around the first 2 saudi shows and he’s getting guys signed up even when they fight or beat his guys.

Eddie was probably too invested in AJ. He had a co promotional deal with Usyk but didn’t do anything long term following the AJ fights.

I think he’s had to play it differently. He can’t be as confrontational with the amount of money the Saudis are investing and it’s clearly helped in getting big fights made.

I don’t think he intentionally winds up the Americans as much as you did a few years back. It may have been entertaining to see but it almost certainly hindered him in getting deals done - particularly with PBC.

He oversees all of Matchroom sports now (although I’m sure Bazza still gets involved a fair bit) and Darts actually makes them more money than boxing. The Saudis are already pretty heavily involved with Snooker so, again, it wouldn’t be in Eddie’s best interests to get on the wrong side of the Saudi money men.

This is a once in a lifetime injection of unexpected wealth from people who have no idea what they're doing. Eddie is a businessman and is simply riding the wave as he should before it all ends and he has to go back to his usual day job (with a much bigger bank balance)

Why would you do your own laundry when you got someone to do it for you?

Best bet is to stay close with Fwank, and buy him out when the old man retires. Eddie will be left out and thats probably why the Saudi's are closer with Fwank than him.

Why would Eddie need to buyout Frank? Frank is essentially just the face of Queensberry. His lad George runs it all and does the deals. If Frank retires then I’m sure George will step up as the face. I’m not sure what Eddie would get buying them out other than their roster.

Eddie seems pretty close with Turki. I’d probably say c.50% of the main events of Turki’s shows have involved Eddie’s fighters. Turki may better relationships with Spencer and Frank but it’s not like Eddie’s been left out in the cold. Eddie also seems to get on well with Spencer which I’m sure has helped. They’ve got copromotional deals on a few fighters now.

I think he meant Turki buy out Frank.
