ESPN reporting Haney vs. Ramirez would be in New York.

Co-feature would be Ryan Garcia vs. Isaac Cruz

Then Haney-Garcia II in October, if they both win.

Don't agree - KingRoid is quicker, longer and naturally bigger - How does PitBull win for you..? :maybe:

Ryan Garcia vs. Rolly Romero, Haney-Ramirez, Bakole-Ajagba Set For Ring Magazine May Card

Turki Alalshikh, owner of The Ring and head of Riyadh Season, took to social media on Monday and officially announced the three official bouts for the first Ring Magazine fight card in the United States.

It was also revealed that the upcoming card will be a collaboration between Ring Magazine and gaming company SNK. The show will be named after SNK's anticipated game release, Fatal Fury: City of The Wolves.

The event will take place on a date in May. More details will be announced in the coming weeks.

The main event will see a welterweight grudge match, as Ryan Garcia will return to the ring against former world champion Rolando 'Rolly' Romero.

In the co-feature, a battle of former unified world champions, as Devin Haney will return to the ring against battle-tested Jose Ramirez.

The third bout will be a showcase battle of heavyweight punchers, with Martin Bakole colliding with Efe Ajagba in an IBF final eliminator. The winner will get a world title crack at the winner of the upcoming clash between champion Daniel Dubois and challenger Joseph Parker, which takes place on February 22 in Saudi Arabia.

As previously reported by The Ring, should Haney and Garcia win their upcoming bouts, they will collide in a highly anticipated rematch in the month of October in Saudi Arabia, as part of the opening for the next Riyadh Season.

Garcia vs. Romero? I'll take that.
The press conference is probably going to be more entertaining than the fight.

I have to admit, Rolly is doing great for himself. He started boxing very late and isn’t nearly as skilled as his competitors, but he keeps earning good money thanks to his trash talk—even though he gets knocked out left and right. Good for him.

Also, Haney is gonna catch strays at the presser

well, cruz is a much tougher opponent, and somehow, for some reason, the boxing powers seem to absolutely love rolo. maybe they see him as more marketable opponent for less risk, i dunno

Gibbons spoke to Boxing Scene hours after boxing financier Turki Alalshikh reported that Garcia will instead fight former 140-pound titleholder Rolando “Rolly” Romero in early May – instead of Cruz on a card sources say is pointed to New York City’s Times Square.

“Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz would absolutely love to fight Ryan Garcia, but with the timing of this coming out as ‘Pitbull’ is scheduled to fight February 1, he didn’t feel comfortable negotiating another fight and turning his attention to that fight, too. It was bad luck in his eyes,” Gibbons said.

“It’s bad luck to him. He’s seen Jaime Munguia take a [December] fight when he had bigger fights awaiting him against guys like Edgar Berlanga and Caleb Plant, and [Munguia] got knocked out,” Gibbons said. “You need to concentrate on what’s in front of you.

“So ‘Pitbull’ let us know that – unfortunately – due to the timing, he has to wait after this first fight. After that, he’s happy to discuss all the details, because, again, it’s a fact that he believes he would knock Ryan Garcia dead.”

“It’s just bad timing,” Gibbons said. “We’re going to now turn our attention to step one with Angel Fierro. It’s not an easy fight. It’d be kind of disrespectful for ‘Pitbull’ – knowing the history of this in boxing – to look forward to another fight and turn the other guy into a tuneup.”

I suspect that’s because he is a dangerous opponent compared to Romero?
Romero strikes me as little more than a hype job.
Claims to have the “biggest balls in boxing”, but rarely shows them.
He lost all interest against Davis once Tank found his range’( mind you, so did Garcia).
He was rescued via a very poor stoppage from a loss against Barroso and gifted a belt.
He surrendered that belt to Pitbull Cruz without much of a showing too.
