you could title it 'chinese powah'
Re: Joe Joyce - what next
It's honestly stunning that he has a win on his record over Dubois followed by a loss to Chisora. He's probably the only boxer in the World that will have that on his record.
That being said, the fact that he could've even lost to Chisora means that something must've happened. Either a bad injury, or something must've happened that significantly affected Joyce's ability to perform.
But yeah if you can't beat Chisora in 2024. I don't really know what's left for you. You're not even a Regional Champion really if you can't get by your Country's old Warhorse that almost everybody gets by.

Re: Joe Joyce - what next
who is the worst fighter to legitimately beat del?
Re: Joe Joyce - what next
Joe is an Olympian now approaching 40 years old.
He’s done well. Very well.
I guess in the rarified world of internet warriors he is a “bum”.
Shame on you for saying that. You know who you are.
Pro 5-6 years too late.
JJJ was a Terminator for a while. Age catches up though.

Probably Dillian Whyte I guess. I'm sure Whyte would fight Joyce too, I'm not sure what good it would do Joyce though.
Re: Joe Joyce - what next
The Whyte that beat Parker who also beat Chisora?
Other than Helenius, currently it's probably Kabayel but it remains to be seen where his career goes. The next tier of Parker, Pulev and Whyte were all decent opposition in the top 10 or fringes of the top 5. I think Pulev could have a higher skillset but his record is way thinner than Whyte or Parker. I would arguably say the same for Haye if you only consider his heavyweight record.

Hah, well because he does a bit of painting himself, I thought i'd tag him in it once finished...although he might not appreciate that piece of fine art!
Re: Joe Joyce - what next
I wish he'd retire; and I'm a Joyce fan.

Re: Joe Joyce - what next
Indeed. For really good money. That must sting as much as a Zhang left hander. Though he might find a spot on another Saudi bill for good dough against the loser. Particularly if its DDD. Whether that is good for his long term well being is another matter entirely.Controversial wrote: ↑27 Jan 2025, 15:05 Can't be easy for him seeing Dubois fighting Parker after he stopped both of them
Re: Joe Joyce - what next
Whilst he should be beating chisora comfortably in 2024… look what Parker did in the remartch…I think people do make it sound like he lost every round vs Chidora…. I edged it to Joyce even with the KD….it was razor tight.

I feel like a normal sized human being could well die from a flush shot by Zhang. Joe is a massive lump himself but in a way thats his downfall: he relied on his chin way too much. I noticed when some iron chinned boxers finally get their chin cracked, they are never the same.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑29 Jan 2025, 03:40Something did happen. It’s called getting Zhanged. I hope you are right Ezzard, I really like Joe, never rude, strong as an ox, some excellent stoppage wins, and extremely humble.Ezzard wrote: ↑28 Jan 2025, 05:56 Joe is still a top fighter. He can build himself up to another big pay day. If he still has the belief and is injury-free I can imagine there are many in the top 10 he can still defeat.
I guess the engine might not be there in the same way. But I would make him favourite against Parker, Dubois, Wardley.
I'd like to see him in with Joshua.

I think physical - the force (or cumulation of punishment) required to switch them off is so great that when it happens it has lasting effectsSeanBrennan wrote: ↑29 Jan 2025, 16:29interesting isn't it - do you think it is physical or psychological thing?black panther wrote: ↑29 Jan 2025, 14:31I feel like a normal sized human being could well die from a flush shot by Zhang.
