Pat Brown
Debut soon on 28 March. Ticket seller apparently. What do people think? Dave Allen has been sparring him and is very complimentary.
Have people seen much of him in ams?

Re: Pat Brown
I think he'll need to be (very) well matched. He is game, fit, tall and handsome I.e. marketable but is easy to hit, not naturally big and can't break an egg.

Re: Pat Brown
Yes but I think his gameness, conditioning and superficial looks are enough for a successful career if he's matched right, it's well doable up to a level. I'm more concerned about his chin (I don't know if it's good, bad or indifferent) because he is a sucker for a right hand and there are some serious bangers at all levels at cruiser.

thanks Jimmy, I used to try to check am records on Boxrec but there aren't many that are complete (not a dig at the forum I definitely would not enjoy updating them!).Jimmy2025 wrote: ↑31 Jan 2025, 18:04 Yes but I think his gameness, conditioning and superficial looks are enough for a successful career if he's matched right, it's well doable up to a level. Brown definitely a favorite of mine , he's got a lot of qualities, swept aside Valera with complete ease

What is Pat doing out in the swamp lands of Florida? Gator hunting? Are we witnessing the birth of the next billion dollar heavyweight?

Hope Hearn makes Brown v Cheavon Clarke next

What’s the verdict on Jordan Thompson up at HW ? I thought he acquitted himself reasonably well.
Could he give guys like Clarke or Adeleye a decent fight ?

Re: Pat Brown
I completely agree. He’s a big rangy heavy and went straight in against a world class guy. He can definitely be in the UK mixCaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑02 Nov 2025, 11:45 What’s the verdict on Jordan Thompson up at HW ? I thought he acquitted himself reasonably well.

Re: Pat Brown
Pat Brown is looking decent after 5 fights and he just polished off an experienced opponent impressively.

Not so swampy in Orlando although it is hell on earth.MightyWarrior wrote: ↑02 Nov 2025, 05:07 What is Pat doing out in the swamp lands of Florida? Gator hunting? Are we witnessing the birth of the next billion dollar heavyweight?

Re: Pat Brown
Pat brown is like every decent prospect I see. Needs investment to keep him fighting and getting rounds.
He should simultaneously run through area, English, British, euro, but then mix in the odd away day through all that focusing on sturdy journeyman for those bouts (also probably fight them at heavy, no need to cut weight on those away days without titles on the line).

pero defo isnt a world class pro, compare how jai bashed in thompson to how pero did, worlds apart. pero consistently looks mediocre, even in his biggest win he was getting hurt and losing late into the fight.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑02 Nov 2025, 13:00I completely agree. Re: Pat Brown
Fair enough. But it’s Thompson’s first fight in 2 years and first at heavyweight. I just looked and he’s 32…. Which shocked me he looks way younger. But he can surely enter the British mix at least?margaret thatcher wrote: ↑03 Nov 2025, 15:59pero defo isnt a world class pro, compare how jai bashed in thompson to how pero did, worlds apart. pero consistently looks mediocre, even in his biggest win he was getting hurt and losing late into the fight.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑02 Nov 2025, 13:00I completely agree. Thought Thompson was poor myself, All style no substance. Using the Philly shell whilst getting your head punched in and then shaking your head like Mayweather is always funny to watch though

Re: Pat Brown
I can’t say I know too much about him, saw this fight and his opponent known for being durable and stopped him with ease. Heard Barry Jones say he was on the fence still as Brown gets hit too much
Re: Pat Brown
I'm a Brown fan and think he's going to be in some great fights, but unfortunately I'm with Barry. I listened to a Jamie Moore interview recently where he said he was trying to teach Brown that he can't always get in a tear-up, but while he got away with it ogainst Valera he looked wide open when he was going in for the finish and it's not hard to see how that could cost him further down the line.Controversial wrote: ↑04 Nov 2025, 13:44I can’t say I know too much about him, saw this fight and his opponent known for being durable and stopped him with ease.
