gives Bud some time to build a body to fight at 160/168 the proper way rather than Okolie'ing it.

I still think that at a higher weight Canelo will win by KO though.

A bit yawn inducing this. Reminds me of the end of career, out of weight class paydays that were being served up several years back, like Winky Wright v Bernard Hopkins.

I like it at 168. I love it at 165. I hate it at 160…

I don’t mind people having to give away some weight to try be great. I dislike people having to deplete themselves too much.

Crawford is not small… he is the same height with longer reach…

-He allegedly weighed 153 fight night vs Beltran at 135… go look at him fight at 135.. he looks like he looks borderline concentration camp and is 153lb…

- vs Spence he was allegedly 165lb fighting at 147… looked thin still.

-vs madramov he was allegedly 169lb fight night fighting at 154… looked great .

-If it’s 168lb I think craw will just under 175lb, and feeling great due to a tiny water cut. (I’d guess canelo will just under 185lbish but slightly drained from a standard size weight cut.. so craw is still giving away some weight)

Craws natural size isn’t really the problem for me. Had he had a different attitude to weight cutting he could of started at welter and moved to 154 8 years ago, and moved to 160 4 years ago, and moved to 168 last year… craws experence at bigger weights is the problem and it’s a big problem… he has fought some bigish guys, but has no experence fighting a unit like canelo..

Very hard to know how craws power and chin travel through the divisions.

If Crawford really thinks this fight can be made and he wants to win, i'd urge him to take a reasonable fight over 10 rounds at somewhere close to the Super middleweight limit. As good as he is, i'd like to see him road test the extra weight in an official contest.

The gym and the ring are two different things :box:

Craw vs dervychenko at 168 in April would be a perfect lil test run.

Crawford wasn't impressive at all against Madrimov. Canelo is packing granite in his chin and heavy power for Crawford to deal with. I'd have to side with Canelo.

Payday fight for Crawford

He was at his best at welterweight and he's getting on now too.

Don't blame him though what tasty fights are out there at the moment at LMW or MW? Zhanibek?

Canelo's chin is up there with GGG as one of the very best. No way is Bud stopping him.

It'll be points or a stoppage for Canelo

Alvarez' CV is absolutely awesome already and looks like it is going to get even better, win or lose. I will wait until the contracted weight is announced and we are closer to fight night to make a prediction. Two amazing boxers.

Canelo's CV of opponents is excellent but many of his wins have caveats. Failed drug test, robbery wins, ducked the Bivol rematch because he didn't want to put his belts up for grabs, cherry picked opponents.

Similar critiques could be levied against most of boxing's greats. Alvarez's ring record is incredible.

Crawford wins on the fans cards

But doesn't do enough to overcome the four round headstart that Canelo has going into every fight. It's be something like 117-113 Crawford, which the judges score a draw or a Canelo split decision.

CANELO ALVAREZ VS. TERENCE CRAWFORD: RIYADH SEASON BLOCKBUSTER WILL TAKE PLACE IN ALLEGIANT STADIUM

A source has advised The Ring that September's Riyadh Season card - featuring the blockbuster fight between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Terence Crawford - will become the first boxing event to take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Allegiant Stadium, which opened in 2020, is a domed multi-purpose stadium and home to the Las Vegas Raiders of the NFL and the UNLV Rebels college football team. The venue has a seating capacity of 65,000 and the ability to expand to 71,835.

The stadium is in high demand when it comes to hosting some of the biggest events in the United States. Allegiant hosted Super Bowl LVIII in February 2024 and will host WrestleMania 41 in April 2025 and the College Football Playoff National Championship game in January 2027.

The Alvarez-Crawford megafight will pit the No. 3 fighter on The Ring’s pound-for-pound list, Crawford, against the seventh-rated Alvarez, boxing’s most marketable star in the United States.

Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs), of Omaha, Nebraska, and Alvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs), of Guadalajara, Mexico, are four-division champions and elite-level talents, but Crawford will move up two weight classes – from the junior middleweight limit of 154 pounds to the super middleweight maximum of 168 – for what figures to be the most difficult fight of his 17-year professional career.

This is how I see it, He’s had the run of the green most of his career. I think Crawford wins in most people’s eyes but Canelo gets it on the judges scorecards.

I like this fight solely due to the fact that I reckon Crawford wins, he is that good

Agreed. Crawford wins 7/8 rounds and loses 115-113 x 2, 114-113.

Crawford's age is a worry for me. He didn't look so good last time out.
