i thought he was supposed to have been a nutcase, if he's a cool nice dude then even better
think you are confusing him with that other jock fighter. morrison was it? Active around the same time and tried his hand at management/promotion. the vauxhall conference MTK
You are thinking of Barry Hughes. Alex Morrison was the older chap. Tommy will know more about Barry than I do.
I’ve heard folk talk him up and also down. I don’t know the man personally. He did try and get Harrison on the straight and narrow but was up against it.
Morrison is a distant relation of mine. I don’t know anyone that likes him. One of the old school boxing promotors/managers and I don’t mean that as a compliment. My mates went pro with him and got out the sport due to him.

Barry Hughes started his own Promotions company called Braveheart, also managed. Had a few shows and decent number of fighters in his peak including Limond, Harrison (as manager)i think he started to promote to keep himself busy. At the time it was def a Morrison/Gilmour stronghold in Scottish Boxing so he def was good to have an alternative.
Used to cut about in a Rolls Royce Phantom, always nice enough to chat too. Obviously his outside activities caught up with him

Kellie is a very big traveller name.
Does anyone remember Anderson snapping at our Dooley for calling him 'Ken'!?. Terry shit himself.
Mickey, our mutual (banned and sorely missed) friend would like to set the record straight on this one

Was all just good banter apparently. Terry wants kenny to call him!
He failed a drug test and got banned. That simple really. PED cheat. I asked Hearn about it at a show years ago who I believe was promoting him and he confirmed this. Believe he pissed hot after the Reid fight. Very exciting fighter tho. Really pushed Groves in that fight.

Kenny was a hard dude. But couldnae cut it at the top. Simples as that.
19 fights with 18 wins, I think he should've beat groves, hardly isn't a case of couldn't cut it. Really good fighter
19 fight 18 wins yes, but against who? He didnt cut it against the top the did he? Fought Groves, lost, pissed hot and dissapeard. Doesnt mean he wan no good, just means he was not able to cut it at the top, in my opinion likesay

Anderson was a very good amateur and an exciting pro. Always a massive disappointment finding out PEDs were in his system.
Kenny gave Groves a torrid encounter, but George showed real metal & character before landing big lunches to force a stoppage.
It goes without saying all boxers would be very handy in a street fight but there are certain boxers you see and just say someone would have to be an idiot to want to fornicate with them. Kenny Anderson was a genuine hard looking bastard in that exact mould.

Cyclops, yep you're correct. It is a banned substance though.
And a PED. I remember thinking it was a weird one to get popped for, as I assumed it would've been a recreational thing and who does speed? But I suppose it would help you train harder, suppress appetite, fight more aggressive... There's some obvious reasons right there for a boxer.
But I don't remember any other boxer getting done for it.

btw browsing his am record i noticed kenny egan's name.........obviously an excellent am, but his pro career was weird
2 pro fights, both in uganda, 4 years apart. 1 of them was a draw with a pair of 60-60 scores in a 6 rounder
Kenny Egan believed those bouts were exhibitions, only to find out later they weren't!
