Not watching buddy just wanted to share for people will watch in morning. Just shared as the bbc didn’t promote it much
Re: Boxing on BBC tonight
Really good fight that. Daord is a lovely boxer, bit more power and work rate and he'd be one to watch.

Re: Boxing on BBC tonight
Daord wins a close UD, I couldn't split them 114-114 but I'm glad he never got shafted on the cards, he looked the better technician, not as heavy handed as McHale but a better mover, better variety and shot selection, caught McHale repeatedly coming in with sharp counters, especially the left hands and had a bit of grit about him as well, McHale brought the pressure and heavier hands, the right cross was his best weapon, he landed that more than any other punch, the rounds swung back and forth, it was hard to split them and I couldn't but happy for Daord, he's a tidy southpaw and now British Super Flyweight champ

Re the scoring, as people are rightly critical when refs/judges get it wrong, I thought it was conspicuous on this card that three away fighters got wins on points over Scottish fighters in fights scored by three judges: Daord unanimously in the main event, Bird unanimously over Morrell in the Celtic light-heavyweight title fights, and Jackson in a split over Crossan in another ten-rounder (which must have had a title attached to it given the three judges, although I can't see what). So credit to the judges for that.
I wonder when was the last time that three away fighters on the same card in Scotland won on points in fights of 10 or more rounds against Scottish fighters?

Three English judges and a Welsh judge.olij999 wrote: ↑10 Feb 2025, 05:05 Re the scoring, as people are rightly critical when refs/judges get it wrong, I thought it was conspicuous on this card that three away fighters got wins on points over Scottish fighters in fights scored by three judges: Daord unanimously in the main event, Bird unanimously over Morrell in the Celtic light-heavyweight title fights, and Jackson in a split over Crossan in another ten-rounder (which must have had a title attached to it given the three judges, although I can't see what). OK, but if that measure was correct, Jack Catterall would now be defending the undisputed world light-welterweight title, having been awarded it by two English judges over one Scottish judge in the first Taylor fight.Alba wrote: ↑10 Feb 2025, 06:31Three English judges and a Welsh judge.olij999 wrote: ↑10 Feb 2025, 05:05 Re the scoring, as people are rightly critical when refs/judges get it wrong, I thought it was conspicuous on this card that three away fighters got wins on points over Scottish fighters in fights scored by three judges: Daord unanimously in the main event, Bird unanimously over Morrell in the Celtic light-heavyweight title fights, and Jackson in a split over Crossan in another ten-rounder (which must have had a title attached to it given the three judges, although I can't see what). Did you feel that any of the three fights mentioned were bad decisions?
Re: Boxing on BBC tonight
Such a shame really when we had a domestic fight of the year contender on terrestial TV (near Prime time on a Saturday) the entire press / social media coverage has been on a 41 year old "national treasure" who is looking increasingly shot but fighting pretty close a "tomato can".
Not meaning for it to be a dig on Chisora, but the heavyweight division is so poor except for one fighter - just waiting for Opiteia to move up.
Thought McHale won to be honest, but thought Daord was more talented. Really tough fight to score, I just thought though McHale was busier and "looked" busier. I thought he edged it on ring generalship
