Very interesting, tough to pick.

I have written Parker off long ago. Earlier in his career on the higher level he was hesitant. Now he boxes smarter and more effective.

Actually, Dub also wasn't too convincing, too limited, but recently he has started to impose his game better.

I really have no idea, who gonna win.

Very difficult to predict this one.

That win against Joshua can be interpreted in 2 completely different ways.

Some believe that DDD has managed to overcome his doubts and can finally deliver the kind of performances that you might expect from someone who's been boxing since he was 6.

And then there are those like myself who think that the Joshua camp demonstrated a shocking level of incompetency in preparation for that fight with Daniel Dubois.

Everything from inappropriate sparring partners to arriving at the venue disrespectfully late seems to suggest that not only he, Joshua, didn't take it seriously enough, but that his trainer Ben Davison is also little more than a glorified cheerleader.

If training was as simple as merely telling AJ that he's the best fighter in the division, I'm sure most of here could do just as well as Davison.

Maybe even better. Psychology is important of course, but tactics, strategy and experience matters too.

So do decent defence habits such as keeping your guard up whilst blocking.

There was absolutely no need to panic because Dubois could not have sustained that level of ferocity for long.

Anyway, if the new more confident DDD turns up, Parker could be in a world of trouble.

If not, Dubois might be on the end of yet another boxer lesson.

Whatever happens, Joseph Parker can no longer be taken by suprise the way Anthony Joshua and his trainer appeared to be.

The more I think about it, the more I like Parker.
He is going to come under heavy fire in the first 4-5 rounds and will need to avoid some of the bombs that Dubois is good for.
If he can he is a good chance of wearing Dubois down and putting plenty of hea5 back on him.
Under pressure Parker tries hard, he kept trying against Joyce but just wore down and got stopped. Under similar circumstances Dubois has form in quitting.
I think we’re going to see a really good bout here

If Parker has prepared properly and is in good shape to go 12, I can see him taking a close decision. Dubois early or Parker late.

Ruthless-RKO wrote: 03 Dec 2024, 04:52 Daniel Dubois vs Joseph Parker, Beterbiev vs Bivol 2 planned for February 22nd Riyadh Season

Carlos Adames vs Hamzah Sheeraz, Vergil Ortiz Jr vs Jaron Ennis, and Zhilei Zhang vs Agit Kabayel are reportedly also in the works

The first Riyadh Season show of 2025 could be an absolute doozy, as Dan Rafael brings word of a planned five-fight lineup that includes an undisputed rematch alongside two title fights and a pair of incredibly intriguing non-title matchups.

The proposed main event would see Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KO) make an admirably tough voluntary defense of his IBF heavyweight title against Joseph Parker. Once reeling from brutal losses to Joe Joyce, both men will enter the ring red-hot thanks to a string of strong victories. Dubois’ last two bouts have seen him smash Filip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua, while Parker pulled off back-to-back upsets of his own over Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang.

In the co-feature, undisputed light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev (21-0, 20 KO) would run it back with Dmitry Bivol (23-1, 12 KO) after pulling off a razor-thin majority decision win in October. The IBF immediately ordered Beterbiev to defend against Michael Eifert, but Rafael claims they reached a step-aside deal.

Other bouts in the work include a previously revealed middleweight title fight between WBC champ Carlos Adames (24-1, 18 KO) and top contender Hamzah Sheeraz (21-0, 17 KO), a heavyweight tussle between Zhang (27-2-1, 22 KO) against Agit Kabayel (25-0, 17 KO), and a massive super welterweight clash pitting Vergil Ortiz Jr (22-0, 21 KO) against reigning IBF welterweight champion Jaron “Boots” Ennis (33-0, 29 KO).

If this all comes together, it may genuinely be the most stacked card I can remember. All killer no filler.
Shakur Stevenson is 100% filler 😂

DANIEL DUBOIS DOES NOT BELIEVE JOSEPH PARKER WILL BE A TOUGHER FIGHT THAN ANTHONY JOSHUA

Daniel Dubois knows that he has a real fight on his hands.

Becoming a world champion meant everything to him. But instead of milking said title with a tenuous defense, Dubois decided to take on Joseph Parker.

Only a few weeks remain before they officially get it on but Dubois believes he’s more than ready. Part of that stems from his preparation. But, in large part, the run he’s been on has him feeling as confident as ever.

Although wins over Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic pushed him up The Ring’s rankings, grabbing a victory against Anthony Joshua left many believing that he’s the real deal.

Expected to lose, Dubois made it look incredibly easy against the former unified champ, stopping him in the fifth round. Parker, at least on paper, might be a stiffer test according to some but Dubois simply doesn’t believe that’s true.

“No,” said Dubois to Carl Frampton during a face-to-face with Parker when asked if Parker will be a tougher fight than Joshua. “I don’t think so.”

Dubois (22-1, 21 KOs) isn’t the only heavyweight riding an incredible wave at the moment. Parker has been scorching hot lately. Since suffering his first knockout loss against Joe Joyce in 2022, the former heavyweight champ reeled off five wins in a row.

Putting together five consecutive victories was impressive enough but doing so at the expense of Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang has turned heads.

With everything clicking, Parker is convinced that he’s never been better. The goal for him is obvious. Beat Dubois convincingly and attempt to become an undisputed champion by knocking off Ring, WBA, WBC, and WBO champion, Oleksandr Usyk.

Everything that Parker has accomplished is cute but that doesn’t make him dangerous according to Parker. Has his run been impressive? It has. But will it help him on February 22nd? Dubois doesn’t believe so.

“He’s been on form but I think I’ll go through him.”

It was widely reported that Parker went into the Joyce fight suffering from a viral illness but still fought his heart out until the pressure from Joyce beat him. No excuses from Parker, but his current training set up with Andy Lee has seen him get stronger and become a more complete fighter. He should know too much for Dubois. Parker UD for me.....

DANIEL DUBOIS FEELING SICK: REPLACEMENT IS POSSIBLE TO FIGHT PARKER

The Ring has learned that IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois is feeling sick and is currently being evaluated by a doctor.

Dubois is scheduled to defend his world title against former champion Joseph Parker on Saturday night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

A replacement is currently being pursued in the event that Dubois is unable to move forward with the upcoming fight.

A source has advised The Ring of the rumored three options being considered.

Those options include former world champion Lawrence Okolie, contender David Adeleye and undefeated Mourad Aliev.

Both Okolie and Adeleye are scheduled to see action in separate fights on April 25 in Manchester. Okolie has a grudge match with Richard Riakporhe, while Adeleye is set to face Jeamie TKV.

Aliev won a silver medal at the 2019 European Games. While representing France at the 2020 Summer Olympics, Aliev was disqualified from his quarterfinal bout for headbutting eventual silver medal winner Frazer Clarke.

Dubois is coming off the biggest win of his career - a five round destruction of former two-time world champion Anthony Joshua from back in September. The showcase win had a crowd of over 90,000 fans at Wembley Stadium in London.

The huge Riyadh Season card is headlined by the undisputed light heavyweight rematch between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol.

Earlier this week, the card was modified when lightweight contender Floyd Schofield fell ill and was pulled from his scheduled world title fight with WBC world champion Shakur Stevenson. The British Boxing Board of Control would not allow Schofield to move forward with the fight.

A late replacement, undefeated Josh Padley, was eventually finalized for Stevenson.

Other fights on the card include Israil Madrimov challenging Vergil Ortiz Jr for the WBC Interim-world super welterweight belt. Callum Smith battles British rival Joshua Buatsi for the WBO interim-world light heavyweight crown. Carlos Adames' WBC world middleweight championship is at stake against undefeated Hamzah Sheeraz. And Zhilei Zhang faces Agit Kabayel for the WBC interim-world heavyweight title.

Too bad the title isn't on the line, but they saved that fight for sure.

Very interesting turn of events. It's a shame for Parker that he's not fighting for a belt though.

A real pity. This was the bout I was looking forward to and a real opportunity for Parker to regain a strap and go on to fight Usyk. I’m really surprised he and his team have accepted a replacement such as Bakole. Risking a future shot at a title. Hopefully if Parker can get over bakole, Usyk gives him a shot - he will deserve it. Let’s see what other twists and turns come for this card before it gets underway.

I think Parker v Bakole is a better fight, I cannot remember when I saw such a quality replacement come in at such a last minute.

Shame it’s not for a belt, but major props to both fighters for doing this.

this opens up a Dubois v AJ fight, but I will try not to be cynical and say this was the reason.
