KiwiRider wrote: 17 Feb 2025, 19:50 I originally voted Parker decision, I thought he had too much experience for Dubois and enough chin to get back up if he makes a mistake, unlike 2024 AJ..
Now I'm leaning towards Parker by stoppage. I think a sustained attack by Parker can get it done late.
I just watched the Usyk-Dubois fight again on TNT and what stood out for me more than anything was the biased commentary. Cringey. Maybe Richie Woodall one of them - definitely a Brummie. I was in a pub when it was on live, couldn't really hear it that well first time round.

But my other point is I agree with you - if Parker lures Dubois out into the later rounds, tires him out making him miss and bops him on the top of the head and the button a few times he can win. Unless this really is a new DDD (one that hopefully doesn't go for low blows anymore).

Barry McGuigan on Talksport saying Dubois is the most naturally powerful heavyweight ever, will knock Parker out.

Barry talking over everybody, discombobulating them and using big words seemingly taking the mick out of Simon Jordan

That's boxing for you ! A precarious business if ever there was one :witzend:

Hopefully Parker still gets a run out after all the hard work he'll have put into training. He must have felt sick to the stomach when the news came through.

DANIEL DUBOIS FEELING SICK: REPLACEMENT IS POSSIBLE TO FIGHT PARKER

The Ring has learned that IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois is feeling sick and is currently being evaluated by a doctor.

Dubois is scheduled to defend his world title against former champion Joseph Parker on Saturday night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

A replacement is currently being pursued in the event that Dubois is unable to move forward with the upcoming fight.

A source has advised The Ring of the rumored three options being considered.

Those options include former world champion Lawrence Okolie, contender David Adeleye and undefeated Mourad Aliev.

Both Okolie and Adeleye are scheduled to see action in separate fights on April 25 in Manchester. Okolie has a grudge match with Richard Riakporhe, while Adeleye is set to face Jeamie TKV.

Aliev won a silver medal at the 2019 European Games. While representing France at the 2020 Summer Olympics, Aliev was disqualified from his quarterfinal bout for headbutting eventual silver medal winner Frazer Clarke.

Dubois is coming off the biggest win of his career - a five round destruction of former two-time world champion Anthony Joshua from back in September. The showcase win had a crowd of over 90,000 fans at Wembley Stadium in London.

The huge Riyadh Season card is headlined by the undisputed light heavyweight rematch between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol.

Earlier this week, the card was modified when lightweight contender Floyd Schofield fell ill and was pulled from his scheduled world title fight with WBC world champion Shakur Stevenson. The British Boxing Board of Control would not allow Schofield to move forward with the fight.

A late replacement, undefeated Josh Padley, was eventually finalized for Stevenson.

Other fights on the card include Israil Madrimov challenging Vergil Ortiz Jr for the WBC Interim-world super welterweight belt. Callum Smith battles British rival Joshua Buatsi for the WBO interim-world light heavyweight crown. Carlos Adames' WBC world middleweight championship is at stake against undefeated Hamzah Sheeraz. And Zhilei Zhang faces Agit Kabayel for the WBC interim-world heavyweight title.

It's always the 3rd named 'possibility.' The least appealing of all.

If it's off that's me done with the PPV, losing one fight is annoying but the joint main event too means my money stays in my pocket.
With all the cash the Saudi's throw around they should stick this now on free to air

If Dubois is too sick to fight Parker. He's too sick to retain his title, and should be stripped of it. I'm normally not for stripping a guy of his belt, but since his World Title is a joke belt that was fought for by 2 victims of the real World Champion in the first place. I don't take his claim of being a Champion the least bit serious, and this fight is only about who is Usyk's potential next opponent.
