119-110, 115-113 and 116-112. Latter two scores more than fair. That 119-109 card is criminal!

Lot of close rounds, if you like Smiff...?
I think it's a slightly bad card rather than criminal.
I've got no problem with that - it was either close Smith or wide Smith

119-110 is wild but not impossible.

What now for smith? If Bert wins that’s a baddd rematch. If Bivol wins it will be a trilogy…

Rematch buatsi at Liverpool for the full belt? That seems like a pretty epic option.

I'd love to see Buatsi fight again - if he can change some tactics maybe he could be back fighting for the title

I sort of see this as a ceiling for Smith unfortunately.

How to fall back in love with boxing again in one easy move

Worth buying the card just for this fight alone - such guts from both fighters. Buatsi so bloody tough, but Smith just seemed to want it that much more. I thought he was ready to go in the 11th, but I think that big combination he landed about a minute into the 12th killed off Buatsi's momentum at the perfect time.

Buatsi really reminds me of Howard Eastman in the sense that he's got so much quality, but for whatever reason just doesen't appear able to go through the gears when it really matters.

Genuinely happy for Smith, not just in terms of returning from the wilderness to win, but the manner in which he did it. Gave everything and hope he gets one last massive payday off the back of this.

Need a rematch of that back in the uk.

I reckon Buatsi would turn it round too.

Buatsi showed some real chin and balls, but he couldn't/wouldn't move enough or be busy enough.
Smith old-manned him out of it - fantastic performance. :salut:

Buatsi might well win an immediate rematch - that fight aged Smith a fair bit imo.

Fun fight. Had it 117-112 for Smith. I'm pretty sure Virgil Hunter shouted in the sixth when Buatsi was taking punishment "KNEE TO THE BODY!"

Smith put so much into that fight from the start.

Here comes Kabayel with (hopefully) the same sort of approach.

Nothing quite beats a war that goes to points…. Means no 17 hour talkfest befor the next contest.

Hope Zhang can win this, the speed and combo punching is going to be horrifically against him but he has heavy hands… I just think Zhang is an interesting anomily that I like having in the division.

Yeah that’s a really good comparison to be fair. Eastman was really long and slim too had really skinny arms and torso, not that over the top muscle bound look. Buatsi isn’t quite as lazy as Eastman was but does switch off in rounds for too long which Smith took advantage of. Arthur Abraham used to fight in bursts too and Carl Froch exploited that by just steamrolling him.

I love the last round of Eastman v Joppy it just sums Howard Eastman up he was in no hurry at all despite being behind on the cards, got his leg tangled in the rope and cool as a cucumber unfurled it and then sticks Joppy on his arse with 5 seconds left. Still not quite enough unfortunately.

Honestly what’s going on with all the empty seats, what can you possibly be busy with that gets in the way of this?
