Round-by-Round: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol II | PPV - 22 February 2025
Re: Round-by-Round: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol II | PPV - 22 February 2025
I think it was the right hand a few seconds earlier that aided the top of the head shot that finished it.
Bakole's legs were all over the shop so I'm not fussy about the stoppage.
Glad Parker went for it early because tiring and stopping Bakole wasn't going to be fan friendly, even though it would have been much lower risk.

Depends on what deals were made before the fight… like did Turki give him a “you’ll still get the efe fight if you lose I have the cash I’ll make it happen” type deal. Or was the money just too irrisistable.Jimmy2025 wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:31 I hope Bakole got paid plenty because even though he took that on a couple of days notice that's all she wrote for his career IMO - I don't agree with others that his stock has risen. A bird in the hand and all that, we don't know what his financial situation is. A shame, though.
Also… mabey a turki thankyou special…
Bakole vs zhang is still an absolute belter.

How long was the flight?
fornicate fighting the same day landing from a 12+ hour long haul.

Absolutely. He’s been a client of Dr Uz for the last couple of years which has coincided with his resurgence.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:36 also joe is defo getting that dr uzzy touch, 267 looking like that when he used to look softer at like 245

We'll see. I think he's lazy and an on top fighter. Even though he's taken that at late notice my bet is he'll feel emasculated and won't have the mental strength to be a winner anymore. He'll get stopped a couple more times and disappear is my prediction. Hope he's made enough tonight to set him up.samwbr wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:32He will be back.Jimmy2025 wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:31 I hope Bakole got paid plenty because even though he took that on a couple of days notice that's all she wrote for his career IMO - I don't agree with others that his stock has risen. Bakole managed to make a win-win fight into a loss.
JP is the second best/second most in form heavy in the world now surely.
Yeah this is a belter card

Considering he bailed 'em out and took this fight on such short notice they at the very least owe him 1 more big opportunity where he actually has time to train and prepare. He can't afford another loss like this though.Jimmy2025 wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:38We'll see. I think he's lazy and an on top fighter. I am very suspicious of Parker's new bulked up physique, who wouldn't be?a force wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:38Absolutely. It's not the pinnacle, but it's a fun attraction between guys on the lower end of the Contender ladder, and it keeps one of them relevant. What's wrong with that?rd350lc wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:40Two fat unfit lardarses is the pinnacle of the heavyweight boxing scene, oh deargregregegg wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:37Depends on what deals were made before the fight… like did Turki give him a “you’ll still get the efe fight if you lose I have the cash I’ll make it happen” type deal. Adam Smith referenced the power Parker has developed' over the last few years. Very very sus. But they're probably all on something tbh.a force wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:38Absolutely. He turned up to steal the money.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:35 I don't think Bakole's stock has risen per se, but he turned up on the big stage at very short notice and swung a few bombs before getting knocked out early. Might just mean he's more likely to get similar gigs in future.

best scenario for me is uysk beats parker or kabayel next, the other one of those guys beats dubois, then we get usyk vs that winner
or really any combo of outcomes that prevents going over old ground.

100% agree.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:35 whatever happens, usyk-dub rematch should not happen until they have each fought either parker or kabayel, f@ck going over old ground when they are fresh matches with deserving challengers
Parker vs usyk , DDD vs kabayal is great.
Kab vs usyk, DDD vs Parker is good.
DDD vs usyk, Parker vs kab is eh.
(the only way I support this is if Parker vs kab becomes for the real wbc and who And I still don’t love it.)

I still want to see Parker DDD.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:41 best scenario for me is uysk beats parker or kabayel next, the other one of those guys beats dubois, then we get usyk vs that winner

This bigger Parker might be able to bang a bit more.

Bakole went as fast as he came, gave too much of his figure to Parker and fell like a sack of potatoes
Levels to this game, but Kudos to Padley for giving his best and trying to wake Stevenson up, at least it ended in the 9th

Yeah, any combo that doesn't involve Usyk-Dub.
If they do fight, I really believe Parker needs to be in the 240s. Unless Dub had been clipped early like Bakole, I think he'd have run this Parker to exhaustion.

I thought Bakole seemed with it enough to merit continuing.handsofstone wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:29 Jesus, bit of a shocker that, surprised Billy Nelson pulled him out, suggests Bakole shouldn't have been in there in the first place, delighted for Parker, huge right caught Bakole high on the top of the head
Or was it the ref who stopped it?
Did somebody here or on tv say the bell rang?
