I'm glad Bivol has acknowledged he has to be busier this time, could be better than the first this

Agree with those saying Bakole made a win/win into a loss. Put on his fat arse in 2 with his jelly tits jiggling, laughed it off, didn't care. He's good when he's upright, on top and throwing his Bowe-like punches, but I can't see anyone fearing him anymore. Totally squandered his mystique.
Re: Round-by-Round: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol II | PPV - 22 February 2025
Absolutely. I'm trying to think what I'd have done in his situation. Must be hard to say no when there's a big bag of cash under your nose. That's why you have a manager and if your manager is naïve and greedier than you are, he may well give you the wrong advice for your long-term career interests. It's a fickle world and Bakole has gone from the most avoided heavyweight in the world, to an obese bloke who got trounced.mickey1975 wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:41He turned up to steal the money.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:35 I don't think Bakole's stock has risen per se, but he turned up on the big stage at very short notice and swung a few bombs before getting knocked out early. Might just mean he's more likely to get similar gigs in future.

Billy Nelson was on the apron asking the ref to stop it.Cholo_cws wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:45I thought Bakole seemed with it enough to merit continuing.handsofstone wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:29 Jesus, bit of a shocker that, surprised Billy Nelson pulled him out, suggests Bakole shouldn't have been in there in the first place, delighted for Parker, huge right caught Bakole high on the top of the head
Or was it the ref who stopped it?
Did somebody here or on tv say the bell rang?

He doesn't look particularly shredded . . .I thought at the weigh-in with the love handles he didn't appear in top shape.Jimmy2025 wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:40I am very suspicious of Parker's new bulked up physique, who wouldn't be?a force wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:38Absolutely. Word. Every time Usyk beats somebody at heavyweight what comes back is, "Well, ok, you did that once -- but can you do it again?" If I'm him I'm tired of that. And when was it that he stopped Dubois in a one-sided beatdown, like a year-and-a-half ago?

I'd forgotten all about that shitty AI judge. Hopefully they've improved its training data for this one.

Perception is reality. 99% of viewers know nothing about the background etc. They just saw Bakole get sparked in two rounds after waddling in looking like a lardarse.a force wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:32Do they? Bakole & Nelson just had a massive pay day & I’m sure Shalom & Bakole will have some sort of deal to get another fight with the Saudi’s.
I think most people are intelligent enough to know how important conditioning is especially after seeing Fury - N’Gannou.
It's not some 4D chess they've played here lol. Cash was grabbed, dice were rolled, it didn't work out.

The 52 year old Ike Ibeabuchi would've jumped at the chance to fight Parker late notice and probably not done as badly as Bakole.

ya its ridic, he already had rematches with aj and fury, to have one with dubois when there are two fresh matches with deserving challengers would be absurd. wasted time for a guy who basically said he only will fight 1 more year
Re: Round-by-Round: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol II | PPV - 22 February 2025
Bakole was bad, really, really bad. Strong, brutish but wtf was that conditioning and physique.
Agree with most, that Parker looks a bit sus, but again, as said, they are probably all on something.
Bakole reminded me of Proud Kilimanjaro, who Horace Notice, just dissected and pummelled, decades ago. For me, just shows, again, how much the quality has....well, Beter - Bivol is on now, so will leave it there.

Usyk rematching Dubois validates the WBA stripping Usyk after unifying the titles for the first time in a quarter of a century because he didn't defend against a guy he'd already KOd with a jab.
(The WBA were responsible for the unfied title being broken up the previous time by trying to foist John Ruiz on us after Lennox combined all the belts.)
It guarantees the same alphabet soup shenanigans will play out again.

He's flexing in the first pic and standing there in the second; apples and oranges. The video does it justice:Jimmy2025 wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:56I don't think he looks significantly more smooth now than he did last year.dempseyfire wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 18:48He doesn't look particularly shredded . . .I thought at the weigh-in with the love handles he didn't appear in top shape.

I hope we don't have the go to the judges again. Beterbiev won on the cards (deservedly for me) but Bill arguably won the fight. Hope one of them can get the finish.

feeling out, not much serious punches thrown, but bivol busier and landing a bit more. bert a bit red in the face already despite seemingly no big shots landing
Re: Round-by-Round: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol II | PPV - 22 February 2025
@dempsey I stand by what I posted, I don't think he looks significantly more smooth than he did at 247lbs.
