How was your stream in the end? I thought 19.99 was worth it for this card so didn't mind paying to ensure viewing uninterrupted, although there's plenty of other PPVs which I just skip or listen on the radio.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑23 Feb 2025, 07:49 Now they just give you a 7 day free trial.

I gave Bert the first fight but Bivol the second.forcefraser wrote: ↑23 Feb 2025, 08:06 Boxing is such a subjective sport. I thought Bivol edged the first fight, but can see how some had it for Beterbiev
Last night though I just cannot make an argument for Beterbiev winning the fight.
Bivol was outstanding. From rounds 8 to 11 in particular it was some of the sweetest boxing I've ever seen
The way Beterbiev patted Bivol on the back and smiled at the bell, he knew he'd lost that fight
Benevidez v Bivol or Beterbiev would be immense.
Obviously the 24 rounds were very keenly contested and there wasn't much in any of them.
I'd confidently pick Biv for the third, in another close fight
Re: Round-by-Round: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol II | PPV - 22 February 2025
Yeah I did too, but I think £10 p/m (if you pay for a year) sounds quite reasonable for what they have, it looks better than BN used to be, and back in the day I'd happily pay for that. Sure though, £24 p/m is ridiculous and I can't see many people paying that.
I cancelled mine straight after the show yesterday. The monthly subscription is such a ripoff considering the high number of PPVs they put on (must actually be higher than Sky in their PPV pomp?) and the lack of other content. I'm honestly amazed they have any regular subscribers tbh.

BN didn't do PPVs tho (I think they did about 2, but were both free if you were a regular subscriber).

Yeah that's true, good point. But there is a pretty big archive, which BN didn't have.

I knew I wasn’t able to watch the whole card so didn’t pay for it.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑23 Feb 2025, 08:07How was your stream in the end? Watched the full main event without interruptions though. I think the stream was 40 seconds behind, but that’s not an issue.

no but a Bivol win for me in both fights - just more clarity this time - unless you are a useless judge who called it a draw last nite
Re: Round-by-Round: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol II | PPV - 22 February 2025
Amazing from both of them.
Seems like 40-year-old Beterbiev is a monster for about 6-7 rounds out of a 12 rounder. He got going earlier this time but also slowed quicker.

A definite mystery given not many Russians ever get done for PEDs…

I'm always suspicious of PED use in boxers generally, although I would say Bert is incredibly efficient with his energy use, tends to conserve it very well and makes the other guy gas instead. He came out faster than usual yesterday which did seem to take its toll a bit late on.

In an interview Beterbiev said that boxing matches should be 24 rounds instead of 12

Did I hear right in the post fight interview Beterbiev said he didn’t want to take the rematch as it wasn’t his choice?

Interesting you think that , I've been a big fan of Opetai since he was a kid , but just can't see him doing well against Beterbiev or Bivol for that matter , whats your rational for thinking Jai would stop him , Power , speed , techniquie , chin , experience , quality of opponents ,,,gregregegg wrote: ↑23 Feb 2025, 04:21See I think jai stops Bert and does it easy… but I know there’s people like you out there so that is why I think it’s a good fight…coneye wrote: ↑23 Feb 2025, 02:50Think Bert stops Opetai and does it easygregregegg wrote: ↑22 Feb 2025, 19:59 Trilogy makes sense now. But as porter said… how many of them do you want… but it’s the best option.
But id kinda still would would like to see Bivol get a crack at 168 undisputed (he says he can make it easy and he looks smaller at the weight).
I’d still also like to see Bert vs opetia
Jai may equal him in chin , i base that on fighting Bredis with a broken jaw , power may be up there , we know Jai can whack ,, but thats it . for me Beterbiev and Bivol just too god and a level well above anything Jai has seen before,
I would like to see it though it would be interesting if the weight would make a difference , although even though i don't gamble think i'd have a flutter on that one

ok maybe do it easy is an exageration. but I think jai is to big and too fit.coneye wrote: ↑23 Feb 2025, 17:49Interesting you think that , I've been a big fan of Opetai since he was a kid , but just can't see him doing well against Beterbiev or Bivol for that matter , whats your rational for thinking Jai would stop him , Power , speed , techniquie , chin , experience , quality of opponents ,,,gregregegg wrote: ↑23 Feb 2025, 04:21See I think jai stops Bert and does it easy… but I know there’s people like you out there so that is why I think it’s a good fight…

Jai walks in the ring at about 6'2, 215lb and 29 years old. I am just not convinced berts mauling would work on him. gunna walk onto shots and tie ups and when they are tied up he is going to be wrestling a bigger, younger man and I think that would grind down on him.
He is very sharp beterb, I just think he would be physically out gunned. bert just lost to Bivol, Jai is probably 30lbs more than Bivol, and while Bivol is a better boxer that's a bigger difference.
Re: Round-by-Round: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol II | PPV - 22 February 2025
I'd be pretty surprised to see Beterbiev or Bivol have any interest in a fight with Opetaia anytime soon. They have bigger fights waiting for them in the weight class they're already at without putting on 25 more pounds.
Re: Round-by-Round: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol II | PPV - 22 February 2025
I think, they will agree on a trilogy first.
Are there any talks of making it next?
Re: Round-by-Round: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol II | PPV - 22 February 2025
I'd personally rather see Bivol vs Smith and Beterbiev vs Benavidez before the rubber match. Just to freshen things up and also keep mandatories at bay while also preventing belts being stripped.

Smith doesn't deserve a shot at Bivol, he's a level below.
Re: Round-by-Round: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol II | PPV - 22 February 2025
Bivol vs Benavidez. Benavidez definitely should be getting a shot at the title now, but Beterbiev deserves a crack at the winner whether it's Bivol or Benavidez.

Yes I’m not sure I’m overly interested in seeing a third one, I can’t see them going massively either way, will likely be another close one
Re: Round-by-Round: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol II | PPV - 22 February 2025
Beterbiev is getting up there in years so in a few years I'd imagine Bivol starts to have a significant advantage. They're probably still on even terms for another year or 2 though.Controversial wrote: ↑24 Feb 2025, 13:40 Yes I’m not sure I’m overly interested in seeing a third one, I can’t see them going massively either way, will likely be another close one
