Holyfield was much faster and tougher. He would win a dec or stop Louis in the later rounds.

Holy also has better defense and chin. Evander in a late round stoppage.

Louis being smaller, is a slight disadvantage and 'Vander had fast hands and blazing combo's, in his heyday.

But Joe could time you, hurt you and drop you. He went 8 rounds with a brute like Marciano, far past his prime, so doubt Holyfield would stop him. Possibly outpoint him, but then again, Joe could catch him with his short, powerful punches as he was pretty savvy, too. Power to drop / hurt, much bigger opponents.

With smaller gloves, I personally, fancy Joe with a late stoppage, more likely, a KO.

I'd take Holyfield to win a decision or stop Joe late.

Joe may have the edge on him when they're both in their early 20's or so, and both around Cruiserweight size. Even that's a maybe, but it's not out of the question.

Once we get full fledged Heavyweight Holyfield though I suspect he's too strong for Joe, and just too good as well.
