Ryan Garner set to fight Salvador Jimenez in Bournemouth on March 1

Southampton super featherweight Ryan Garner will fight Spain’s Salvador Jimenez at the Bournemouth International Centre on March 1, it was announced today.

Garner, who is unbeaten in 16 pro fights, was last seen outpointing Archie Sharp over 10 rounds in July, ruining Sharp’s undefeated record in the process.

Jimenez, meanwhile, is also unbeaten. His record stands at 14-0-1 (6), with the one draw coming against Juanfe Gomez in November 2023. He has since then won two fights, both by stoppage, but has yet to fight outside his homeland. At 28, he is two years Garner’s senior, but will start their March 1 fight as a hefty underdog.

“Buzzing to announce (that I am) headlining my first show close to home on the south coast down at the BIC in Bournemouth,” Garner, 16-0 (8), wrote on social media. “Let’s get as much support from Southampton there as possible.”

It’s strange TNT and DAZN going head to head this night.

Thought they’d stop that.

Wonder if the Joyce fight goes ahead ? If he's fit for this makes you wonder why he wasn't in the running to fight Parker in Saudi ?

Really? I mean it would have been good for Parker to get revenge. Other than that, Joyce has regressed so much

Ruegg vs Dillon was very tight. Big jump for Ruegg, he did well.
Frank ham is very upright. Can’t see him doing much.

Just turned on to see Lewis Edmondson stinking up the joint.

He’s winning handily enough, but he’s let his man back into the fight and he can’t step it up..

It goes the distance, I've got Edmondson ahead 117-112, bit of a borefest,, looked like we might be in for an early night, 1st round Edmondson was measuring Kejawa up for the long right hand and he literally couldn't miss with it, he wobbled him with it, Kejawa's legs doing a little dance but the ref jumped in to call the punch around the back of the head, replays shows it was to the temple, ref saved Kejawa from almost certainly getting KO'd, after that Edmondson outboxed Kejawa, switched stances but never hurt him again, Kejawa was poor offered little and was one paced

Things got boring in the middle rounds and Edmondson took his foot off the gas and Kejawa finally started having some success, doubled up the jab , pressured Edmondson and caught him with some clean shots, it didn't last though and Edmondson fiddled his way to the end for wide UD
